Liwa Al-Quds fighters
The al-Quds Brigade announced on April 14 that it had lost ten personnel, including a senior commander, in a recent attack by ISIS cells in Deir Ezzor. The Palestinian group, which is supported by Russia, is fighting on the side of the Damascus government.
According to a statement by the group, the fighters were ambushed near the area of Bi’r Ali in the southwestern Deir Ezzor countryside. The group’s fighters were reportedly carrying out a combing operation in the area.
The al-Quds Brigade identified the senior commander who was killed in the ambush as Emad Zakaria Jammu, who was commanding the group’s rocket unit. Jammu is known for joining the so called “Fedayeen” in southern Lebanon in 1995. He participated in several military operations against the Israeli military during that period.
Last week, ISIS cells killed four fighters of the Syrian National Defense Forces (NDF) in a similar ambush in western Deir Ezzor. The attack, which was reportedly launched from the Homs desert, provoked a fierce response from the Russian Aerospace Forces, which bombed the terrorist group’s hideouts in the region.
The new attack on the al-Quds Brigade, will not likely go without a response. However, a military operation against the last ISIS strongholds in the Homs desert remains off the table, due to the rising tension around Idlib.
Sadly this will continue as long as the US shields and supplies ISIS with its forces of occupation.
It will also continue until the SAA actually do something drastic about it, which according the article, is not going to be anytime soon!

Every time the Syrians follow the terrorists, the US bombs them. The US claims all territory east of the Euphrates, and the SAA could not win a war against the US. Be realistic if the Syrians shot back at the Americans, the US would carpet bomb Damascus, it’s the American way.

You cannot deny that these attacks always occur in territory quite close to US controlled territory.
In this case the terrorists are camped east of the Euphrates cross the river attack then cross back into American controlled territory, where they are safe.

It make no sence at all USA and we as Coalision should ISIS. SDFs were created to fight ISIS. The small semi-FSA was created to fight Assads as well as ISIS too.
But from Damaskus as well as Russia i hear things about it, which only can be made as internal propaganda for the hard times of Assads.

I thought so too for months.. But in last week it was becoming much clearer that this is just an excuse. Yeah, the US shield FSA and likely many Jihadists try to hide in the 55 mile zone. But now even Southfront admits that the real reason is that because of the never ending Idlib drama, Damascus does not have the forces to do a real operation in the homs desert. Despite all the dead of the last month, and despite Idlib operation will not happed anyway anytime soon (or in the medium term). I can only image how pissed off the SAA are becoming, with both their hands tied behind their backs because of political pressure from Ankara, seeing daily attacks on comrades and civilians. I say either the Idlib deal is still valid, and this means Ankara and Moscow as garantueeing powers have the responsibility to prevent attacks, and let then SAA get units from Idlib to the desert.. OR: Follow through on what the deal says if it would not work: Do the operation against the militias and Jihadists who break the deal. Other than that, this mess will never be resolved.

The SAA is demoralized and undermanned and Iranians are being slapped daily and losing their will to fight a lost war as Iran collapses internally. The rebels only have a max of 20,000 HTS, 30,000, FSA/NFL, mabey 10 to 15,000 in other unassociated rebel groups, and a few thousand to a max of 10,000 Isis fighters, that’s better that 2 to 1 numbers for the SAA, nearly 3 to 1, so why can’t the SAA spare a few units to hunt them down, they have Russian air support to assist them don’t they, why isn’t it on the cards. Putin doesn’t want the war in Syria to end, he want’s it to last forever, he wants the EU gas market share all to himself, and doesn’t want to share it with anyone, even Iran.
