ISIS ‘Children Recruiter’ Apprehended By Iraqi Security Forces In Fallujah Raid

On October 29, Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (ICTS) apprehended a terrorist for forming an ISIS recruitment ring that specifically targeted minors.

In an official statement, Maj. Gen. Yehia Rasool, a spokesman for the Iraqi Commander-in-Chief, said the terrorist was arrested during a raid in the city of Fallujah. Detailed intelligence obtained by the ICTS led to the successful raid.

According to Maj. Gen. Rasool, legal measures were taken against the terrorist, who was identified only by his initials (M. H.).

ISIS always showed special interest in child soldiers. At its prime, the terrorist group recruited and trained hundreds, if not thousands, of children between the ages of 10 and 15 within a unit known as the “Cubs of the Caliphate.”

The group forced children to fight on several frontlines in Iraq and Syria and even used them as executioners in some of its infamous propaganda videos.

ISIS is apparently still attempting to recruit children, at least in Iraq. Nevertheless, this time, security forces are taking action to stop the terrorist group.
