On December 9, militants bombed two oil wells at Kirkuk’s Khabbaz oilfield. The wells are located at the site produces approximately 25,000 barrels of oil per day. Security forces deployed following the incident were not able to find the attackers. However, later, pro-ISIS sources claimed that cells of the terrorist group operating in the area was behind the attack.
