UPDATE 2: The Russian Defense Ministry has commented the ISIS claims saying that the Mi-28 Russian combat chopper made an emergency landing due to malfunction. The Mi-28’s crew is not hurt. The service members were brought to an airfield.
UPDATE: Pro-opposition media activists claim that multiple airstrikes hit the alleged crash site area.
Early on October 6, reports appeared that ISIS allegedly downed an unknown helicopter near Wadi al-Lozaib near the Salamiyah highway in the eastern Hama countryside.
Following the reports, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS members downed a “Russian helicopter” near Shaykh Hilal in eastern Hama.
No additional details or photos providing from the alleged crash site are available now.
