ISIS claimed responsibility for the Sri Lanka bombings that as of April 23rd have left at least 321 people dead.

The announcement was made through ISIS’ ‘Amaq News Agency.

No evidence to back up the claim was provided.

CCTV footage emerged showing a suspected suicide bomber entering St Sebastian’s church in Negombo, where at least 110 people were killed, moments before the attack.

An 8-year-old boy, one of 45 children that died in the attack was related to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Sri Lanka’s Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardene told parliament that the attack was a response to the attack against Muslims in Christchurch, New Zealand, according to preliminary investigations.

“The preliminary investigations have revealed that what happened in Sri Lanka was in retaliation for the attack against Muslims in Christchurch,” he said.

The Guardian cited terrorism researchers, according to whom the sophisticated nature of the attack and the equipment used would likely have required months of preparation, including conditioning the suicide bombers and testing the explosives.

As of April 23rd, 40 suspects were arrested in connection to the attacks.

April 23rd was also the National Day of Mourning, some of the dead were given funerals.

Also on the same day, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe addressed parliament regarding the attacks. He said investigators have made good progress identifying suspects, adding that some of the bombers had travelled abroad and then returned home. Police are investigating who they might have met while abroad.

The prime minister said all those arrested so far are Sri Lankan nationals – and there is no Syrian in custody, despite earlier rumors.

He provided no comment on whether the attack was in response to the Christchurch shooting. He did admit that it was a line of enquiry that was being pursued.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena appointed a 3-member Special Council to inquire into the attacks.

The Council comprises of Supreme Court Justice Vijith Malalgoda, former Ministerial Secretary, Padmasiri Jayamanna and former Inspector General, N K Ilangakoon. He instructed the Council to study the background, the reasons and any other factions as to why the attacks happened.

“…The announcement was made through ISIS’ ‘Amaq News Agency…”

The one in Langley? Well… if the CIA confirmed it, then it must be true.

Rob

The game of West has been started about Sri Lanka to take it for military bases within one month. US and UK plan to send military forces and advisers to Sri Lanka.

Jews are not happy with BRI silk road. Russia and China should wakeup. Israel, ISIS and Alqaeda are babies of West – John McCain.

Vidura

lol there are no bases in Sri Lanka :DD

ISIS./Zionist whbhi/white supremacy, are all from the same book. this people want to create rift between civilization and muslim/Cristian war . Srilanka has to be verycarefull. in this regard.

Rob

“ISIS Claims Responsibility For Sri Lanka Terror Attacks”

.. so it’s official then, another Mossad scam.

PZIVJ

What a bloody mess there. :( Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is about 70% Buddhist Sinhalese, the Tamils are Hindu 12%. This terrorism definitely appears to be imported.

China has control of a Sri Lankan sea port, not making the US/UK at all happy.

Short term objective of ISIS/US, start a Christian-Muslim war, Iran’s Shia being the Muslims

Equally targeted is China’s “Belt Road”, the Sri Lankan sea port allows China a central position in the Indian Ocean, with matching ports in Pakistan in west and Burma to the east. Saudi Arabia opened 650 Wahhabi schools in Bangladesh last year aiming to create an unending supply of jihadists. So poor, they think 50 bucks a day is “real money”

Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Laos are all majority Buddhist cultures that are far to ‘happy’, which just does not sit well with the unhappy in the Caliphate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

If ISIS claims responsibility, it means the US did it. I wonder what they are after, maybe a US naval base in Colombo? It would be a good place for the US to stop trade to/from China

zman

Yep.

I guess this means the US/Israel are looking to erect some anti-ISIS military bases in Sri Lanka. Logistically, it looks good for watching China and Iran. It appears the US/Israel are spreading their anti-terror terror campaign closer to Russia and China. Unless Russia, China and Iran want to be fighting SoFs in their own back yards indefinitely, they need to come up with a plan to cause the axis of evil real pain and send a message they won’t misconstrue. If they continue to pussy-foot around, they will be paying for it for a very long time. Israel and the US have already climbed up Modi’s ass, pushing for confrontations with Pakistan. The writing’s on the wall, they better take heed. ISIS didn’t just magically appear in Afghanistan for no reason.

Harsha

now 359 dead.
