On September 30, ISIS fighters captured al-Sa’ad village south of al-Suwar town in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside after a large attack on positions of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) around the village, according to the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq. 4 SDF fighters were killed during the attack on the village while the rest run away from it, according to Amaq.
Attack against the SDF:
This was the first large counter-attack of ISIS against the SDF since the group started its military operation in Deir Ezzor governorate. ISIS launched many hit-and-run attacks against the SDF in the governorate, but it didn’t try to recapture any area it lost from the SDF before.
Attack against the SDF:
Meanwhile, Amaq released new photos of ISIS fighters in al-Shula village at the al-Sukhnah–Deir Ezzor Highway. According to Amaq, ISIS fighters ambushed and killed 3 pro-Syrian government tribe’s leaders. Moreover, ISIS fighters attacked a position of Liwa al-Quds around and Shula and killed at least 4 fighters of Liwa al-Quds in the attack.
While the photos confirm that the location of the attacks is in al-Shula village, the date of the attacks is not confirmed yet. So far, some Syrian pro-government sources insist that al-Shula is still under the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) control, while other sources argue that the village is a no-man-land.
Attack against government forces:
obviously a well designed operation to ensure that no one gets hurt, has great media coverage for all the world to see how furious warriors SDF are against terrorists…..i hope the US commander and sof that are embedded in both sides didn’t do anything wrong and noone was hurt by friendly fire in this show. no lets all go back and fight SAA, enough playing around with our buddies of SDF
Very large attack, 4 dead… and probably those 4 dead were Arabs forced into SDF by conscription.
Those 4 probibly died of old age….
Retaken this afternoon.
Just my point.
And of course when killing SAA they have photos to prove it because they actually did kill them. But when “killing” pro-American mercenaries they just post up some pictures of shooting into nothing and driving around or walking around.
The captions underneath the pictures are a bit strange, specially the ones with “captives”.
It says: “The foray (incursion) of the warrior (Mujahid) sheik X -may god accepts- The apostate pro Alawite (nosayriah) ‘name of the captive’.
AFAIK, they call Alawites as Nosayriah, it’s a nickname for pro-government individuals. SDF are not normally Alawites, their balk is consist of Kurds and they follow the Cult of Ocalan, a mixture of Kurdish version of Leninism, Feminism, Nationalism with a taste of Sunni Islam. Why are they calling their captives Pro Alawite?
In other pictures the caption talks about an ambush of pro-Alawite tribes.
Could someone more familiar with their literature please clarify this? It doesn’t make sense to me, if it was an attack on SDF.
More so, the picture of the first captive, the one with bloody chin. Position of blood seems strange to me. Anyway, being captive of ISIS is not something I wish even for enemies.
ISIS considers the SDF and SAA as allies. In the city of Alleppo there is a kurdish enclave. If the SAA andSDF were enemies (at last for now) the SAA would have entered that enclave and “liberated”it. There also have been several cases of cooperation between the two forces.
Perhaps you are right. However, existence of enclaves is not a proof of cooperation.
It’s a nuthouse: SAA and allies say SDF and US coalition cooperates with ISIS. SDF says SAA cooperates with ISIS. ISIS says SAA and SDF cooperate.
Deciding which one is true depends on whether you critically receive your info from several groups of sources (Russian, Iranian, Syrian, independent, Jihadi, western MSM) or just one group.
the truth will be somewhere in between
matt is a troll name’s Jihadi Julian a trash journalist and editor.
Think everyone is twigging to the fact they are fake already and those are SDF soldiers and not ISIS fighters. They must of had it dropped under the bottom lip so it would give the effect of blood see it for real and this very fake. They used the same small car twice , then earlier like usual everybody is shooting either high or low. Have seen these guys before in other SDF videos why do they try so hard to fake these battles.
At the same time Al Monitor reports that IS has taken Qaratayn, that the IS attack was successfull and not defeated by SAA.
SDF will counterattack and indeed, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Just as long as your gains are more frequent and bigger then your lossess, one does ok.
So SDF is doing ok, now having entered Markadeh, captured a mini arsenal of IS there and with heavy fighting within the city.
Soon the whole Khabur Valley, with its important agricultural lands, will be part of Northern Syria, the people free of more than half a century of oppression.
Thereafter, the Omar oilfields and the Iraqi border are begging to be liberated by SDF.
I just hope that SDF are not socialists and turn Mesopotamian lands into Venezuela.
Venezuela has nothing to do with socialism. It is just a populist rentner economy without any real productive sectors.
They just exploit their oil, neglected their rich agriculture, neglected to industrialise, neglected their rich iron mineral wealth, hardly any fishing, forestry, tourism.
Venezuela had a few years ago many tourists in Isla Margerita, now completely without because of lawlesness etc etc.
I have travelled the country widely a few decades ago and even then it was going downhill. A very beautiful country though. Once Madero is gone, visit Merida in the mountains, visit the Angel Falls, the coast line and some very beautiful bavarian villages around Colonia Tovar.
PYD knows they have to work, to reconstruct, both material damage and society at large.
pyd knows nothing. they can do only killing and arresting and genocide. thief gypsies.
nothing wrong with gypsies solomon
solomon is creator
kurdrats are destroyer
creator?
creating values
you????
of course.
how?
Have you ever read a little about their restructuring of the isolated Northern Syrian economy? Of the cooperatives started there, both in agriculture and also in retail and small scale industries? Have you read about the reconstruction of Kobane, Manbij, Tabqah?
Have you read about the integration of the Tishrin dam in the electric grid of northern Syria, of the upgrading of the almost destroyed generators Tabqah dam?
Then come back and discuss with me whether PYD and allies know anything other then killing. Ok?
@dutchnational:disqus …That must have been quite an achievement for YPG … but of course with the help of the Assad govt. civil engineers/servants … etc …behind the scene co-operation … In the mean time .. right across the country.. all the territory govt have liberated … the Nation building continues .. rebuilding infrastructures and services … no big deal for govt…. look at West Aleppo … or look how pristine East Aleppo is or Damascus ….. so….Yawn…..
A few decades ago, it was ruled by the small elite. THEY, and the USA are the main reason that Venezuela is in deep shit. Since Chavez took power, they did anything to stop progress for the people untill today. Unfortunately Maduro does not have the same qualities as Chavez.
Have you been there?
Have you talked to the people from Venezuela?
I have lived in that neighbourhood for years, travelled that country, spoke to the people.
Chavez had the luck of high oil prices. As soon as those went south, so did his “economy”, which was consuming without producing anything.
There were some points that were symphathetic, even necessary, but as in any economy, you cannot consume more then you produce. A little fact he and his successor forgot.
i have been there once and recently have been talking with several venezuelans in colombia
Many fled to Colombia.
Never been there. The closest I got was in San Cristobal and then things got dicey because of drug traffickers and corrupt Venezuelan police officers.
Venezuela is socialist and sympathetic to other socialist regimes like Assad, Qaddafi, Kim Jong-Un, Castro, Mugabe, Morales. PYD may walk to the same path.
Better Venezuela than America.
which day will you move in venezuela?
You are crazy.
Worse, I’m English.;o)
You guessed it , more on the communist side , that’s why their American organizers needed the name change , otherwise they would not have received funding from Congress .
We will see…
Founders of Ba’athism were Fabians and sympathetic to Marxism.
they are commies.
Hopefully. Did you read interview with SDF commander Kobane in al monitor ? And i like as well this analysis http://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/view/the-race-for-deir-al-zour-province
