On August 10, the ISIS terrorist group launched a counter-attack north of the city of Manbij that had been liberated by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Initially pro-Kurdish sources argued that SDF units were able to repel it. However, then it was confirmed that ISIS militants captured Bawzkij, Al Zatar Cement Factory, Kurdala Tahtani and Khirbat Mas.
On August 11, ISIS continued counter attacks despite heavy air strikes of US-led coalition warplanes.
