ISIS has reportedly deployed additional reinforcements to southern Raqqah in order to boost its offensive against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and pro-government tribal forces in the area.
Clashes are now ongoing between ISIS militants and government troos in the areas west and south of the crossroad village of Ghanem Al-Ali. An intense fighting is also ongoing in the area of Ghanem Al-Ali village itself.
ISIS claims that it controls the village while pro-government sources deny these claims.
However, it’s clear that ISIS has successfully used the government advance in central Syria for re-gropuing and preparing for operations in the province of Raqqah.

These reinforcements and existing ISIS forces in the area will be surrounded and trapped in a pocket by advancing Tiger forces towards Bishri triangle and 5th corps advancing along the Sukhna – Deir Ezzor axis. With the Homs pocket eliminated, SAA and allies front lines are becoming more cohesive and shorter, allocating good troop concentration against depleted ISIS.

No, SDF is responding to the advance of SAA on the one hand and following the deal between Assad/Russia and US/SDF on spheres of influence. SDF advances north of the river, SAA south of the river. It seems likely that even in case of a SDF advance to near DeZ, SDF will let SAA and IS fight it out around DeZ city.
There is no deal between the parties and the US claims things that were never agreed upon all the time. Everyone knew that the advance along the river in built up areas with a lot of civilians and stock piled resources would be more difficult, complicated, and time consuming as the government front line advanced down the river to Madan and DE. I’m sure that the Syrian government coalition is planning reach the river in places to start sectioning the river front regime change components, and to cross the river as well to open new fronts on the other side. Along with possible air insertions on the other side of the river as well. Ranging from scouting activity to small unit detect and destroy missions.
