ISIS Emir, Iraqi Elite Militia’s Commander Killed near Mosul

One of the emirs of the Islamic State terrorist group has been killed by the al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces, which lost one of its commanders in clashes with terrorists.

One of the emirs of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group has been killed by the al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces, also known as the People’s Mobilization Forces (PMF), to the western of Tal Afar district, the Baghdad Times newspaper reported on Thursday, citing an unnamed source.

“The al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces managed to kill one of the Islamic State’s emirs, known as Abu Dujana al-Tunsi, to the west of Tal Afar district,” the newspaper quoted its source.

The source also disclosed that a booby-trapped vehicle was also blown up by the Iraqi Security Forces in the village of Ayn al-Agha, located to the west of Tal Afar. As a result, two IS terrorist were killed, as well as two booby-trapped armored vehicles were seized by Iraqi military.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces announced that Ali Abdel Kadim al-Saeedi, the commander of the al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s 10th brigade, lost his life in armed clashes with IS terrorists in Tal Afar district.

“Commander of the al-Hashd al-Shaabi’s 10th brigade, Ali Abdel Kadim al-Saeedi, was killed during the battles for liberation of the areas to the west of Tal Afar district from the Islamic State,” a statement of the PMF reads.

On Wednesday, spokesman for the al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces, Ahmed al-Asadi, reported that the organization had launched the first offensive of the 6th phase of the operation, aimed at liberation of the areas, located to the west of Tal Afar. He also stressed that the al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces managed to cut off the main road, connecting Mosul and Tal Afar.
