The main objective should be Abu Dhur city, the lifting of the siege of Hua and Kafraya and the full liberation of Idleb. ISIS are going no where. They will eventually run out of supplies.
If they are ISIS units in that pocket, they will get their supplies from “Air America”! And make this war last even longer and cost more human lives.

Syria is not a densely populated country for one thing, and ISIS converts conquered troops into their religion. That is why you never heard of HTS death toll in that pocket. They only switched sides.

To add to my previous statement ( ignore spelling), al-quida in Iraq was the original foot in what IS formed from. Noting that IS was not a Syrian creation and that the expansion into Syria was more off the back of disinfranchised al-Qaida members, partly because of the gains off Iraq and then into Syria! Therefore why I state in my original opinion they are one and the same, just thought I needed to clarify my position and train of thought…

They were not surrounded for that long, and the ones who didn’t flee defected. Jihadis are easy to convert to ISIS.

I don’t think anyone buys the HTS fled a besieged area story. They are as good as the same HTS and ISIS but ISIS is better for the SAA since they are not part of any cease fire agreement.

Actually changing to ISIS is good for Syria and allies. Hitting them and taking territory from them will generate no “outrage” from the west. And will lower the negotiating power of rebels in any peace deal since they hold no territory at all. I can’t understand how the west is so stupid. It’s unbelievable. It’s as if they want to hand out control of the world to their adversaries. Everything right now is going Syria’s way, really everything. Am shocked at how everything is properly aligned for China and Russia to dismantle the empire. With more territory for Syria and more S-400 batteries, Syria is becoming unassailable.
Neither is HTS/Al Qaeda part of any agreement, Turkey had HTS leaders with them to assess Abu Duhour airbase, then they left.

Makes no sense. SAA takes many days even weeks to capture just a few blocks of building yet ISIS does it with ease. Could it be possible that the terrorists including ISIS take there orders from a central command centre? Finger does point to a US intelligence organization.

Makes perfect sense, this area in question is a large area filled with a good amount of large and small towns, hilly areas and rough terrain! Urban warfare is the more protracted type there is, there is no way any one can make a comparison! As in my comment the forces in that area are one and the same, majority of nusra did not leave they just joined isis and that tactically makes sense. Not been able to bring in fresh troops and resources, pooling what they have is the logical survival mechanism. Try not to forget Isis besieged the SAA in der azor for 3 years!

Al Nusra/Al Qaeda HTS commanders = foreign agents. When they scurried away (or were evacuated by CENTCOM), the abandoned head-choppers naturally turned to ISIS leadership to save their asses. In stupid head-chopper fashion, they are completely oblivious to the fact that ISIS commanders are also foreign agents that will abandon them (or be evacuated by CENTCOM) just before the pocket is overrun by the SAA.
