ISIS Fighters To Withdrew From Eastern Hama Pocket Under Deal With Syrian Government Forces

On Thursday, an agreement was reached between the Syrian government and ISIS fighters besieged in the eastern Hama pocket. The agreement will allow ISIS members to withdraw to Idlib governorate. according to the Syrian Radio station Sham FM.

On Wednesday, the Syrian government allowed 1,500 civilians and ISIS family members to withdraw to an area controlled by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Idlib governorate.

ISIS fighters could chooose Idlib because they had  excellent relationships with HTS fighters there as they both worked in weapons and oil trafficking, according to opposition sources.

At the sae time, a report of the pro-government blog al-Masdar News claimed that the Syrian government will evacuate ISIS fighters to Deir Ezzor governorate.

After the US-led collation aggressive reaction to the Deir Ezzor deal it would be not logical to make another try to do the same thing.

Now it is extremely hard to determine which one of the two reports is the correct one. There is also a big chance that some ISIS fighters in the eastern Hama countryside pocket have chosen to defect to HTS and to withdraw to Idlib governorate, while others want to leave to the ISIS-held area in Deir Ezzor governorate.

So far both reports are not confirmed by any side, and there is also a chance that the deal is only for civilians as tens of thousands of civilians who refuse to live in government-held areas are still trapped in the ISIS pocket.

” tens of thousands of civilians who refuse to live in government-held areas are still trapped in the ISIS pocket”..

I thought the FOAB was made for just such situations..

Solomon Krupacek

no, bombing of civilians is war crime

Gregory Louis

Never stopped the US or Saudi’s in Yemen

Solomon Krupacek

also

AR-15 for ARII

This is a situation where the SAF gave their ISIS friends a free pass. No one is fooled.

DJ Double D

This deal will free 1000’s of warriors who will in turn be send to East Deir Ezzor to continue their heroic deed.

Solomon Krupacek

and you allow them to kill civilans in idlib… satanic, zionistic decision was this!

Pál Póli

but it will free up thousands of SAA troops also, who can reinforce the advance in Deir Ezzor area

DJ Double D

That’s my point. By East Deir Ezzor, I mean the oil fields to the east across the Euphrates.

DJ Double D

I strongly believe that this is a wise deal. Just another pain for the US. All their effort to derail SAA progress is crumbling. Now more reinforcements to Deir Ezzor province.

DJ Double D

Report has it that US military convoy was turned back by the SAA in Hasakah province yesterday and not allowed to cross their checkpoint. Another small victory for the SAA.

FlorianGeyer

They Sat Nav was broken :)

Trustin Judeau

The good thing is that SAA forces will freed and send to some front . But unfortunately bad news are coming very bad . And Allegedly SDF have captured Tabiyeh oilfield and El Isba oil and gas field . Hope it is not confirmed

Kell

Yeah heard a day ago of a heliborn attack there.

Pál Póli

The Russians may allow Turkey to do some damage to the kurds and then bargain with them about the east Deir Ezzor territory

Jc Plancarte

Evacuate them to hell, already, ISIS fighters, families and those islamist civilians who refuse to live under Syrian government control. Why kick the can down the road? Provide a permanent solution, now, wipe all of them out. Exterminate that roach nest completely!!!! Those islamist “civilians” will only pro-create more jihadi terrorists!!!

palebluedot

Yeah, I’m torn, by this apparent deal and the preceding one in the Qalamoun mountains. You’ve got them surrounded, finish them the hell off. The only potential benefit I can see is that sending them to Idlib could potentially result in more jihadi-on-jihadi violence, which is the cherry on the sundae.

Solomon Krupacek

wrong, very wrong decision!

Gjergj

Mainly taking into account the North Hama situation where HTS could always mobilize for an attack, this deal is a good one.

MD Ranix

islam is a peaceful religion … the deal signifies that … in short, the satanists are given two choices, repent or go deeper into hell

RichardD

Smart move. They probably decided to get out while the getting out was good. Before they turned into the last stand of the 850 part 2.

a good deal. think about the lives of SAA soldiers saved by this. one must remember that in these areas isis has great defences prepared. so a battle there would waste many troops and resources thus destroying of the cities in urban warfare. on the other hand moving the battlefield in other areas frees up soldiers and resources. take a look at the map. SAA fights in 100 fronts. How can you support such battle?imagine giving orders to Raf for close air support to 10 different location.waste of precious time. but if you concentrate on 2 fronts ….hama and Dez the airforce will be familiar with the battlefield ,would be able to deploy rapidly etc. think about that. why have 10 enemies in 10 locations in a vaste country that takes days to deploy re-enforcements and not concentrate on just 2 regions?

Loveyou

Mr Turbofan, ” tens of thousands of civilians who refuse to live in government-held areas are still trapped in the ISIS pocket because these are ISIS families members and tens of thousands of them have already gone to EU along with the some ISIS fighters and have now permanent bases in EU by the order of Merkel Hitler daughter.”
