Early on August 6, ISIS terrorists launched a “hit and run” attack on Syrian military positions in the eastern countryside of Hama.

According to pro-government sources, the terrorists attacked positions and checkpoints of the Syrian Arab Army and the National Defense Forces around the town of Jundya‏. Government forces repelled the attack after several hours of heavy clashes.

Syrian government forces didn’t sustain any losses. ISIS, whose terrorists were forced to pull back from the vicinity of Jundya‏, may have suffered casualties.

According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, this was the second attack by ISIS on eastern Hama this week. The group’s terrorists attacked military positions near the town of Jub Abyad on August 4.

ISIS terrorists are likely launching their attacks from the Homs desert, that lays between eastern Homs and western Deir Ezzor.

The terrorists may be launching these attack to secure supplies. The Homs desert have very limited resources and a harsh heat wave is currently effecting the region.
