ISIS fighters killed more than 28 fighters of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and captured 8 others during a large hit and run attack in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside on October 12, according to the terrorist group news agency Amaq.
In details, ISIS fighters took advantage of the bad weather conditions and attacked several positions of US-backed forces around the towns of al-Kashmah and al-Bahrah. After overrunning theses positions, the terrorists stormed the Hajin refugee camp and several military positions around it.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that ISIS abducted over 130 families from the Hajin camp during the attack. The SDF, which is responsible for the camp, is yet to confirm or deny this.
Earlier the SDF claimed that their fighters had repelled a large-scale ISIS attack in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside on October 12. However, the video and photos released by Amaq prove that US-backed forces were manipulating the truth to hide their heavy loses.

I do not think Turkey ever had an official plan to stay in Idlib (though they supported all those Headchoppers together with Wahhabistan & the West). Afrin and the North of Syria should be returned after the War for Good Relations & a good Bordersecurity with Syria is important… Turkey wanted to get rid of the YPG/ PKK on it’s Border at all cost…. Deals were made with Russia & Syria concerning Idlib & the Northern Border… The U.S. never made Deals and is an Illegal Occupying Force in Syria…. The US and France are fighting Daesh under UN mandate at the request of Iraq, that mandate gives them authority to cross Syrian borders to engage them as Assad had no control over those regions. Once Daesh is defeated that mandate is over. Enter Turkey who was only there to fight the Kurds and has no UN mandate to do anything, much less establish an occupation zone. If the US doesn’t leave then the discussion can be had, but Turkey is the issue at the forefront now.

One possibility is that those ISIS left behind after the US extraction of those important to the US are rather angry. It is possible that an embedded film crew was also left to die. A media team would be on the list of those the US does not want walking the streets of France or Britain etc.

With all of America’s military assets in the area you would think they could overrun ISIS in this little pocket quite easily. They certainly seemed to advance a lot quicker when they were racing the SAA to the oilfields the other year; although maybe that was because ISIS had room to retreat. This almost makes me believe America doesn’t want to defeat ISIS yet, because doing so would remove whatever flimsy pretext they had for being in Syria.

If anything this should be a good case as to why SAA’s final major operation should be to cross the Euphrates. The eastern half is still part of Syria regardless of what the US thinks. Leave it to Assad and Russia to show these US trained socialist boy scouts how its done. First deal with Idlib and the Turkish menace, then consolidate and build a Russian trained army sized force with modernised tanks and equipment, like Russian combat robots, and take back the rest of what’s theirs. This will take a while into the 2020s probably. Also crossing the large Euphrates river in large numbers to establish beach heads successfully requires planning.
