On Thursday, ISIS terrorists renewed their fierce attempts to seize the strategic government-held town of Sukhna located at the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway in central Syria.
ISIS attacked outflanked the town from eastern, southern and southwestern directions cutting off the roads linking Sukhna with the rest of the government-held area in the province of Homs.
According to pro-opposition sources, ISIS units even captured Tuntur Mountain that overlooks the entire area of Sukhna. If this is true, the defenders of the town are now in critical situation.
Fierce clashes in the area of Sukhna have been ongoing since the start of the week. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have repelled multiple ISIS attacks in the area. However, ISIS successfully uses the overstretched communications of SAA units deployed in the areas conducting attacks along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway.

Some two months ago IS started forced conscription in the MEVA, Mayadin to the border app. Those recruited may not all be very enthousiastic but like many armies IS can be ruthless enough to get them to fight after one or two months of training.

Well,my friend I am not a Syrian ( I am from Europe) but back in time I been there,I walked to places where is war raging now and I witnessed people were living in peace with each other,churches among mosques and synagogues..It is all gone now..The US is to blame for,I was huge US fan back in time but today US means terrorism on highest level to me,its leadership I consider as terrorist criminals since the Libyan/Syrian/Iraqi war..I been in service,I been in wars..I saw what is the truth..Not what they showing you on the news..First time in my life I raise hat to the Ruskies for their actions in Syria..Never liked them though,but today its seems to me that they are on the good side and we are on the wrong..
There is lack of commitment from RU and Iran. They should have deployed a large contingent of fresh troupes in other to fill the vacuum which has been created by stretched supply lines of SAA and Hezbolah. Obviously the ability of ISIS to fight back has been underestimated and the opportunity to consolidate won territories missed. However the most important factor has been coordination done by US special forces on the ground. This is a serious set back which can tilt balance of power to the US NATO. Before being rude, perhaps you should look at the clips and articles by the Russians themselves on how their targeting system is designed to work; instead of using precision guided bombs the Russians use a computerized target system.
