ISIS wing in Nigeria, the Islamic State-West Africa Province (ISWAP), continues to carry out attacks in the country’s northeastern state of Borno.
On January 28, ISWAP terrorists attacked a base of the Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) located in the town of Agiri. The terrorists managed to storm the base after killing a soldier, according to the Amaq news agency.
Before withdrawing, the terrorists set the whole base on fire. Amaq released several photos of the attack on January 31.
On February 2, ISWAP terrorists targeted a convoy of the NAF and a local pro-government force as it was passing in the town of Ngumi with a heavy improvised explosive device (IED).
The IED’s massive explosion destroyed two military vehicles, killing Mali Said, a pro-government commander, and six of his guards, according to Amaq. The agency released photos of the ambush on February 3.
ISWAP cells have been intensifying their operations in Nigeria’s northeastern region, especially in the states of Borno and Yobe, for a while now.
The terrorist group appears to be determined to turn the whole northeastern region into its main stronghold in Nigeria. Government forces will have to make much more efforts to end this threat.
One Nigerian soldier dies and the whole base is abandoned ? The Nigerian military must be the worst in the world.
When an enemy focus all its troops against a base it can outnumber them. By that all always are killed.
But You are right too. Their soldiers are in the low end.
We again as for Syria, Libya, fghanisyan and others should say: What wrtong with Nigeria as one state. Do smaller and more well organized ones is a better solution.
They are more then 200 mio and very big in seize. Religion isnot their only problem ISIS dirtbacks included.
They also are plundered hard by western allied with highly local rulers. Its not about oil and pollution but that too.
You are fixated on separatism. Separatism is not the answer.
Well, niggers aren’t known for their competency.
