On September 7, the ISIS news agency, Amaq, released a one-minute video of the terrorist group fighters clashing with the Egyptian military in the Sinai Peninsula.
The low resolution video shows the terrorists targeting Egyptian troops with a Mk-19 4mm grenade launcher and what appears to be a M242 Bushmaster 25mm chain gun. Both weapons were mounted on pick-up trucks.
Amaq claimed that the video was filmed on September 5 near the town of al-Toumah in the northern part of Sinai.
Egyptian observers contradicted the terrorist group claims, saying that the video was likely filmed last February. Some of the heavy weapons seen in the video were reportedly captured by the Egyptian Army back then.
By releasing the video, ISIS is likely trying to send a message that its members are still operating in Sinai. During the last year, the terrorist group’s cells in the region suffered frim several major blows, especially during the Egyptian military large-scale operation “Sinai 2018.”
The Egyptians have done better than most at dealing with the Yinon plan regime change terrorists.
4mm grenades? WoW … probably some pocket version :)))
