Late on February 16, ISIS cells ambushed a small unit of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the eastern countryside of Homs.
According to Amaq, the main news agency of the terrorist group, the attack took place in the outskirts of the town of al-Sukhnah. SAA troops were targeted with machine guns.
“Praise be to God, five [Syrian] service members were killed,” Amaq said in a statement.
The al-Sukhnah ambush was the most recent in a series of attacks by ISIS cells in Syria’s central region. On February 13, the terrorists attacked three posts of Iranian-backed forces to the east of the town of Khunayfis in southern Homs, where several phosphate mines are located.
ISIS cells launch their attacks from the Homs desert, which lays between eastern Homs and western Deir Ezzor. Hundreds of terrorists reportedly take shelter in the region.
The SAA backed by several pro-government factions and the Russian Aerospace Forces are working to contain ISIS threat in the central region. Last week, hundreds of Russian airstrikes hit the terrorist group’s personnel, hideout and equipment.
ISIS cells have stepped up their attacks in the central region. However, they have failed to expand their influence into the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle and western Deir Ezzor, so far.

I said it a few days ago when it was reported that the SAA had “concluded” its anti-ISIS combing ops. It was only a matter of days for the US/ISIS to regroup in al-Tanf and SDF-occupied areas to relaunch their terrorist operations.
Only idiots can give credit to the porn fantasies of the mossad, which with Rita Katz manages the infamous Amaq site, the only site in the world that is allowed to pretend to be Isis and not be banned, in the West they ban Trump but not Isis.

Al Amaq needs propagande to boost morale because as usual ISIS members are unable to take a single village and most of them die for nothing.
