On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured two more areas in the eastern Homs countryside, according to pro-government sources.
Government forces took control of Bi’r Qudaym and Jabal ‘Asab, and with this Advance the SAA captured at least 40% of the ISIS pocket in the northeastern Homs countryside.
The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that many soldiers were killed after 4 ISIS suicide bombers had attacked a position of the SAA east of Tahmaz village in the eastern Hama countryside.
Amaq also claimed that ISIS fighters destroyed a tank of the SAA near al-Tayibe village northeast of Sukhna town.
It’s likely that only few dozens of ISIS fighters are left in the northeastern Homs countryside. However, hundreds of ISIS fighters remain in the eastern Hama countryside pocket.
Now the TF should go back to Euphrates front and fix the problem . Their job in Homs and Hama is over for now . 2 pockets were created . Let some other units clear them .
There are reports that TF alread send reinforcements
Well maybe a portion of TF should move to the Euphrates to keep the front line stable. It’s usually a good idea to keep on pushing the enemy where you are meeting success (west of Deir Ezzor). The Tigers may even have the option of taking Mt Bishri triangle and it’s road to DZ, and at the same time supporting the river front from there. This will pressure ISIS on another front. I say keep pushing! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/891e929023165434e107503c7242adab16412632a94090f58610e3ea8e81df4e.jpg
Good point. The World does not need nor want another Palmyra (apologies for the spelling).
How did Isis manage to do such a powerful offensive over there in raqqa yesterday? I hope it is reversed quickly
Agreed!
As I wrote before, SAA and Russia should use “After of all bombs” in second packet to clear the packet and continue clearing the first packet
Infrastructure has value, and the Syrian gov doesn’t want to reduce towns and villages to scrap piles (at least, no more than necessary).
FOAB has no good target in this pocket that is shown to be 1500 square KM. As a rule Daesh forces are very dispersed and do not gather in one location. So dropping one would mainly harm the desert ecosystem (lizards and snakes, etc). And maybe only a dozen Daesh rats.
Better plan, continue as is, since its working.
Cassette bombs are more effective.
So how many Isis fighters escaped from western pocket to idlib thanks to the HTS/ FSA attack?
1,000? 2,000?
The western pocket should crumble if the SAA and NDF tried to take it.
This will give SAA a good reason to attack Idlib
Yep! But not now: it’s dangerous to atomize SAA forces.
First ISIS-Daesh in Deir Ezzor, aftar this, everything else.
Most likely – none….
HTS didn’t breach SAA lines and didn’t break through to the cauldron. Pressure on ISIS is still high, and temperature is increasing. Char-broiled terrorists? It might be tasty, but really only suitable for dog food.
They tried and died on many fronts the Daesh scum , they expended too much manpower and lost over 100 in the taking and scores more Daesh are dead and wounded in the counter attack. The Daseh Southern border attack lost scores dead and wounded and the attack faltered, as it has everywhere so far. This was the US coordinating the attack and testing the SAA’s ability with it’s proxies, probing for weaknesses.
SAA moving so fast that nobody really knows where they are at as they rampage all over the desert.
Deir ez zoir in 4 months.
SAA moving so fast – Deir ez zoir in 4 months
that was good :)
3 max
Next week, DZ, with the help of Russia aerospace force.
I’ve said it before an I will say it again! “Slower is faster” (this saying is used in trades often)! If u do something right the first time, make sure its done perfect and u complete it, then u will have done it faster than if u had rushed! Clean up the pockets first, Free up the men on your front lines! Then u are safe and secure and u can overwhelm the enemy on all fronts without fear of being disrupted! The SAA are doing the right thing so far! These pockets are shrinking every day! South of the Ithria road must be secured! Just clean up those pockets, free up 5000 men and have much smaller fronts with much larger forces on them! DeZ is doing just fine! Close the gaps and become a tidal wave against DeZ instead of a trickle!
I see the future of ISIS soldiers https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e66e30de264c492d11df0cb4c4621183aaf35aff5f2cf3bf39eb223106d8930b.png

I don’t have a clue what it means. Northeastern, eastern. There are two black holes on the map, which is which?
