On January 6, ISIS’ news agency, Amaq, released photos from a recent attack by the terrorist group cells in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk that targeted a post of the Iraqi Federal Police (IFP) near the town of Tell Khadijah in the district of al-Rashad.
ISIS terrorists targeted the post with assault rifles and rocket propelled grenades. As a result, a policeman was killed an another was wounded. A thermal surveillance camera was also destroyed.
Before withdrawing, the terrorists clashed with reinforcements sent by the IFP. Two Humvee armored vehicles were allegedly damaged by the terrorists.
One of the terrorists was armed with a US-made M4A1 carbine assault rifle, while another was armed with a Croatian-made HS Produkt VHS Bullpup assault rifle. The rifles were likely stolen from Iraqi government forces.
Last year, ISIS cells managed to expand influence their in Kirkuk. The terrorists carried out dozens of attacks against government forces and civilians in the province.
The Iraqi military, police and intelligence launch operations against ISIS cells in Kirkuk on a regular basis. Yet, more needs to be done to end the terrorist group’s insurgency in the province and the rest of the country.
Gee, I wonder which NATO countries are supplying the weapons to all these ISIS groups? It looks like American assault rifles and anti tank weapons used by ISIS. Those bull pup style weapons could be Czech or Israeli. Funny how ISIS new attacks it’s supposed greatest enemies and runs around killing everyone but the ones it professes to hate. 🤔
