Russian Mod Denies ISIS Claims that Russian Warplane Shot Down Around Raqqa

ISIS militants reportedly shot down a Russian warplanes near the city of Raqqa in Syria.

According to unconfirmed reports (mostly from ISIS), the 2 pilots have been captured alive.

No photo or video proofs have been released. There is no information about the nomenclature of the aircraft.

Locals report that ISIS members are screaming over mosques in Raqqa about an airplane falling down in the southern desert. Such hysteria  engenders a perplexity among the citizens

However, there are some media reports that Russian warplanes have conducted air raids against ISIS militants in the area of Raqqa.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense released a statement informing that Russian warplanes haven’t conducted air raids in the area of Raqqa today.

General Igor Konashenkov, Russian MoD’s spokesman, called “informational provocation” reports about an allegedly downed Russian jet

“Reports of an Qatari TV-company about an alledgedly downed Russia Aerospace Forces’ jet by ISIS terrorists in the area of the Raqqa city are an informational provication.” Interfax cites the Russian general.
