On November 30, terrorists from ISIS affiliate in Nigeria, the Islamic State-West Africa Province (ISWAP), carried out a large-scale hit-and-run attack in the northeastern state of Yobe.

ISWAP terrorists attacked a large camp of the Nigerian Armed Forces and a police post in the town of Bone Badi, simultaneously.

According to ISIS’ Amaq news agency, the terrorists clashed with Nigerian troops at the military camp, which was later shelled with five artillery rounds and nine mortars. At the same time, the terrorists overrun the police post and set it on fire along with three vehicles.

Several soldiers and policemen were allegedly killed or wounded in the attack. ISWAP terrorists also captured some weapons and ammunition. Amaq shared photos from the attack on December 2.

ISWAP cells stepped up their operations in northeastern Nigeria, mainly in the provinces of Borno and Yobe, in the last few months.

Nigerian government forces conduct operations against ISWAP on a daily basis. In a recent operation, warplanes of the Nigerian Air Force bombed an armoury and training bases of the terrorist group near Lake Chad. Several fighters and high-ranking commanders of the group were reportedly killed.
