ISIS Terrorists Captured Then Executed Six SDF Fighter Near US Base In Northeastern Syria

On September 11, ISIS terrorists captured then executed six fighters of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the northeastern Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor.

The terrorist group’s official news agency, Amaq, said that the SDF fighters were ambushed and captured near the town of Ruished on al-Kharafi highway. The fighters were on their way back from the al-Omar oil fields where they were being trained by the US-led coalition.

ISIS terrorists took the six fighters to a remote desert area in Deir Ezzor. There, the fighters were quickly interrogated then shot and killed. Amaq released footage of the brutal execution. However, SouthFront has decided not to share it.

In a press release, Amaq said that the attack was a response to the SDF’s ongoing security-humanitarian operation in al-Hawl camp in al-Hasakah where thousands of ISIS members and their relatives are being held.

ISIS cells have been very active along al-Kharafi highway, which links Deir Ezzor with al-Hasakah, for several years now. In February, the terrorists reportedly killed three fighters of the SDF and wounded five others in a successful ambush on the highway.

The SDF and its backer, the US-led coalition, have been making much efforts to combat ISIS remnants in northeastern Syria. However, the terrorist group’s cells are still active all over the region.
