The Russian state run television RT said it had found “precious documents” that revealed illegal oil trade by Turkey and its apparent connection with ISIS.

The RT said that a team of the Russia Today Documentary Channel traveled recently-liberated areas in northern Syria and had found “precious documents” which had Turkish addresses on their cover pages.

It also said that it found the financial records track of the illegal oil and cost of trade which clearly shows ISIS terrorists groups had been in business with Turkey.

Over 170 financial records of the sales department of the ISIS ministry of natural resources, dated between January 11 and 24, 2016 were found. Those records include the name of the oil well, the price per barrel, the date of sale, the number of trucks used for delivery and the total cost of the sold oil.

On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the flow of oil smuggled by ISIS terrorists across the Syrian-Turkish border had been continuing despite attacks on the terror group’s infrastructure, and the UN Security Council’s ban on the illegal trade.

However, ISIS finances itself through drug trafficking, oil and antiquities smuggling, and ransom from kidnappings. There are also indications that wealthy individuals in the Persian Gulf region have raised most important resources for the terror group.
