On April 9, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq – ‘Ashab al-Kahf (AK) released a video documenting recent attacks on US forces.
The 4-minute video, which was shared by the Sabereen News channel on Telegram, includes old videos, never-before-seen footage and stock clips of US forces in Iraq.
In the video, AK fighters can be seen attacking supply convoys of the US-led coalition and targeting bases hosting US troops in different parts of Iraq. The group also showcased some of its weapons in the last part of the video.
AK is a pro-Iranian Shiite group founded in August of 2019. The group was among the first to launch attacks against US forces after the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, and Iranian Quds Force Leader Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani.
Currently, several small groups are active against US forces in Iraq. The US believes that these groups are only fronts for factions of the Poplar Mobilization Units, first and foremost Kata’ib Hezbollah.
AK and other “resistance” groups have been working to push US forces out of Iraq for more than a year now. However, Washington is not backing down.
