The Israeli military announced on the noon of May 5 that it had assassinated Ahmed Khudari, a commander of the Hamas Movement, who was supposedly responsible for transferring Iranian funds to Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
“We just targeted Hamed Ahmed Khudari, a Gazan terrorist responsible for transferring Iranian funds to Hamas & PIJ in Gaza, helping fund their rocket fire at Israelis … Transferring Iranian money to Hamas & the PIJ doesn’t make you a businessman. It makes you a terrorist,” the Israeli military wrote on Twitter.
Palestinian sources confirmed that Khudari was killed in an airstrike that targeted his car in the area of al-Sudar inside Gaza. The Shehab News Agency released several photos showing the aftermath of the Israeli airstrike.

In what appears to be its first response to the assassination, the military wing of the Hamas Movement, known as Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that his fighters had targeted an “Israeli jeep” north of the Gaza Strip with an advanced anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
Israeli media said that the attack killed an Israeli civilian. Some sources revealed that the ATGM used in the attack was of Kornet type, which is made by Russia. Syria had reportedly armed Hamas with this type of missiles.
Meanwhile, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and its local allies continued their rocket attacks on Israeli settlements north and east of the Gaza Strip. According to Israeli sources, Palestinian factions have launched more than 500 rockets and shells, so far.

Despite these dangerous developments, Arabian sources, including the UAE-based al-Arabia TV, reported that Israel and Hamas had reached a ceasefire agreement that will begin within a few hours. While this claim has not been confirmed yet, both sides reached similar secret ceasefire agreements before.

If you caught yourself saying OMG, rockets are falling on Southern Israel and children and families are running in to bomb shelters and that’s so outrageous – you should have. But did you do the same for the four Palestinians murdered on Friday? The dozens killed and thousands injured during the Great Return March? The millions living under a brutal military occupation that has taken countless Palestinian lives?
Chronology matters. Friday, Israel gunned down 4 Palestinians peacefully protesting. No condemnations. No one saying how immoral it is to kill Palestinians – human beings. But now we see wall to wall coverage of rockets launched from Gaza. Once again, the Palestinians become the unprovoked savages and Israel is the victim. STOP IT.
