A new Israeli missile strike targeted in the early hours of July 24 at least two military position of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the southern governorates of Daraa and al-Quneitra.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) confirmed in an official press release that Israeli missiles hit the strategic Tell al-Harrah base in western Daraa.
“Reports say that the damage caused by the Israeli aggression was limited to materials,” the agency’s reporter said.
According to several Syrian sources, a second base, located on the hill top of tell al-Ahmar in al-Quneitra’s countryside, was also hit by Israeli missiles. The SANA has not confirmed this, so far.
Pro-government activists said that the Israeli military carried out the attack with guided ground-to-ground missiles. The activists claimed that several missiles were intercepted by the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF).
This was not the first attack by Israel on Tell al-Harrah base, which used to host a Syrian-Russian signal intelligence center. Last June, the base was attacked in the same fashion.
