At night, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) hit targets near the Syrian capital of Damascus. As a result of the attack, two Syrian soldiers were wounded.
The footage shared from the spot confirmed at least one explosion on the Damascus outskirts.
According to the Syrian news agency SANA, some missiles were intercepted and that the strikes caused some damage but didn’t specify what the targets were.
A military source said in a statement to SANA that “At about 12:30 a.m., the Israeli enemy launched an aerial act of aggression with waves of missiles from the northeastern direction of Lake Tiberias, targeting some sites in the vicinity of Damascus City, and our air defenses intercepted the hostile missiles and downed a number of them.”
The Israeli Air Force launched the airstrikes from over the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. The IAF jets were spotted flying over northern Israel around the time of the strikes.

Tel Aviv is yet to comment on the strikes. Israel frequently bombs Syria but rarely acknowledges its operations in the neighbor country.
The latest Israeli attack in Syria was reported on December 11, which reportedly targeted a key radar base of the Syrian military in the southern Syrian governorate of al-Suwayda. A few hours after the reported strikes, the Israeli military dropped threatening leaflets in the area, warning Syrian soldiers against cooperation with Israel.
Last week, the head of the IDF confirmed that Israel was responsible for the recent attack on a truck convoy in November. the convoy was targeted when entering Syria from Iraq.
IRGC-backed forces in Syria and Iraq have responded to several of Israel’s recent attacks by targeting U.S. bases in southeastern and northeastern Syria. However, Israel remains undeterred.
