The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has acknowledged losing five more soldiers during ground operations in the Gaza Strip.
On November 11, the IDF said that a reserve officer was killed amid fighting in northern Gaza. The slain reservist was serving in the ranks of the LOTAR Eilat unit, an elite squad tasked with protecting the Red Sea port city from attacks. According to a military probe, he was hit by sniper fire in the Jabalia refugee camp.
The death of four more troops was announced by the IDF on November 12. The soldiers all served with the Kfir Brigade’s Shimshon Battalion.
According to an initial IDF probe, the troops were hit by a rocket propelled grenade fired into a building they were in, in the far north of the Strip.
On November 13, the al-Qassam Brigade, the military wing of the Gaza-ruling Hamas Movement, shared video footage showing what appears to be the attack that killed the four troops near Jabalia. During the same attack, the group’s fighters blew up several Merkava main battle tanks and Namer armored personnel carriers with explosive devices.
Other videos released by the group in recent days showed multiple other tanks and carriers being targeted with rocket-propelled grenades and explosive devices in Jabalia and nearby areas.
In recent weeks, the IDF expanded its ground operations in northern Gaza, from Jabalia to the nearby town of Beit Lahia, killing more than a thousand Palestinian and displacing tens of thousands others.
The latest death brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 376. More than 2,400 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit in the Strip, according to Hebrew media. A helicopter also crashed.
On the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza has exceeded 43,000, with women and children making up most of the casualties.

the problem of gaza will be solved by continuing genocide once and for all. for every israeli soldier, there are 2.000 dead gazans. the funny thing is that israel actively recruits soldiers for the idf abroad, to boost their number, because israel can pay the mercenaries. you will find quite an interesting mix in the idf ranks, the former ussr bloc, bedouins, africans… muslims and christians are fighting in idf as well.
