Late on February 4, Israel announced that the Iron Dome air defense system had intercepted a drone over the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said that the drone did not enter Israeli airspace, adding that it was shot down over Gaza. The military didn’t clarify if the drone belonged to the Hamas Movement, the de-facto ruler of the strip, or any other Palestinian armed factions.
Residents of the southern Israeli city of Sderot and nearby areas as well as Palestinians living in northern Gaza reported hearing a large explosion. Footage that surfaced online showed two Iron Dome interceptors engaging the drone.
The Iron Dome was mainly designed to shoot down short-range rockets. The system was first used to intercept a drone in May 2021, during an 11-day Israeli operation against Hamas and other factions in Gaza.
The military wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, expanded its drone program in the last few years. Today, it possesses an arsenal of reconnaissance, combat and suicide drones. The second largest armed faction in Gaza, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds Brigades, has been also developing and operating its own drones.
Usually, the IDF shoots down the drones of Palestinian factions only when they are being flown out of Gaza towards nearby Israeli settlements or the sea. However, a drone was intercepted over the strip last May. Israel takes the threat posed by these drones very seriously.
The globalists just trying to relive the Crusades likely with the same ending.
The pissrealis spend between $50,000 and $100,000 every time they attempt to take out Palestinian drones that cost under $1,000.
Of course, it’s the American taxpayer who pays for the missiles – not the pissraelis, so they couldn’t give a sh_t.
