The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) lost three more soldiers while conducting ground operations in the Gaza Strip on November 2.
Two soldiers from the 424th Shaked Battalion of the 84th Givati Brigade were killed and another was seriously wounded in a single incident in northern Gaza, according to the military, which stated that it was still investigating what exactly happened.
A third soldier was killed by a grenade explosion in northern Gaza. The Israeli Military Police has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the deadly incident, which was apparently not directly related to the fighting. It is still unclear in which unit the soldier was serving.
The two deadly incidents reportedly took place in the Jabalya refugee camp, where the IDF has been conducting ground operations for nearly a month now.
Videos released recently by the al-Qassam Brigade, the military wing of the Gaza-ruling Hamas Movement, and the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, showed an armored personnel carrier of the IDF being targeted with a rocket-propelled grenade and an Israeli soldier being sniped near Jabalya.
The latest death brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 371. More than 2,344 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit in the Strip, according to Hebrew media. A helicopter also crashed.
On the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza has exceeded 43,000, with women and children making up most of the casualties.
