The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) acknowledged on October 19 that two soldiers were killed while fighting in the northern Gaza Strip.
The two slain soldiers were both serving in the ranks of the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion, which operates Merkava MK 4M main battle tanks.
The al-Quds Brigade, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, released on the same day a video showing its fighters targeting two Merkava MK 4M tanks in the area of al-Qasasib in the center of the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza, where the IDF has been operating for the last two weeks. The Israeli soldiers were likely killed in this attack.
Two other videos released recently by the group showed mortar attacks on IDF gatherings in Jabaliya as well as rocket launches at the settlements of Sderot and Nir Am near Gaza.
The military wing of the Hamas Movement, the al-Qassam Brigades, also released videos showing an attack on a building occupied by Israeli troops in Jabaliya as well as two ambushes that targeted units of the IDF in the refugee camp and close to the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
The latest deaths brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 357. More than 2,280 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit in the Strip, according to Hebrew media.
Meanwhile on the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war has exceeded 42,500, with women and children making up most of the casualties.

you can see in some of the videos the guy running off the second he shoots, they seem to choose locations that allow the shooter to run off to the side to avoid the tanks responding shot. that is one reason you don’t get to see the results of the shot, everyone runs.
