On January 8, Hamas political official, Osama Hamdan, claimed htat the forces of the Israeli regime had retreated from the northern part of the Gaza Strip without achieving any goals. Israeli forces reportedly did not take any prisoners from the Palestinian Resistance.
Osama Hamdan alco claimed that Israel will not get back any prisoners until it agrees to the conditions of Resistance. Meanwhile, the West Bank is being subjected to barbaric aggression by Israel, but the Resistance is holding firm. The ongoing hostilities destroyed the myth of the “mighty Israeli army”. The Israeli regime will not implement its project of “voluntary migration”, since the Palestinians “are the owners of this land and we will stay on it, and Zionists will leave it.” No plans to create a civil administration in Gaza under Israeli control will succeed.
“Gaza will be part of a fully sovereign Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital,” the official concluded.
According to the Palestinian Hamas movement the Israeli army failed to achieve its goals during three months of fighting in the Gaza Strip. As a result, it was forced to retreat from the northern areas of the Palestinian enclave.
The claim came after the command of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had stated that the main direction of military operations was shifting to the south and to the central part of the Palestinian enclave. The Israeli military was set to strengthen the defense of the security fence separating Israeli territory from the Palestinian enclave.
While the northern areas of the Gaza Strip were completely ruined, the partial withdrawal of Israeli forces is expected. Indeed, despite three months of intense battles, the IDF failed to achieve the destruction of Palestinian Resistance. This is despite the military-technical advantage of the IDF, their large funds and large human resources. The Chief of the IDF General Staff claimed that the Israeli army is ready to continue fighting in the Gaza Strip throughout 2024. In fact, this is a recognition by an Israeli general of tiny achievements on the battlefield amid the destruction of the infrastructure and horrific civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip.
