On November 11, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its troops had captured 11 outposts of the Hamas Movement since the start of ground operations in the Gaza Strip.
During overnight operations, troops of the Nahal Brigade found and later destroyed a tunnel entrance near a school, the IDF said. It added that the 215th Brigade identified a group of Hamas fighters approaching troops of the Givati Brigade, and directed a warplane to strike them.
According to the IDF, the Navy also carried out strikes overnight, targeting buildings used by Hamas fighters in northern Gaza. Some of those strikes were directed by ground forces.
In the early morning, heavy fighting between the IDF and Palestinian fighters was reported in Gaza City. Israeli troops were advancing the vicinity of the Shifa Hospital, where Hamas allegedly maintains a key command center.
Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that its fighters destroyed three vehicles of the IDF in the southwestern outskirts of Gaza City using rocket-propelled grenades in the morning.
From its side, the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, said that if fighters managed to hit an Israeli Heron TP reconnaissance drone that was operating over Gaza.
There were also reports of rocket attacks on settlements close to Gaza, including Kissufim. However, no impacts or casualties were confirmed.
The current goal of the IDF appears to be the Shifa Hospital. Several strikes hit the hospital in the last two days. However, medical workers and a number of civilians who are taking shelter there are refusing to evacuate due to the heavy clashes in nearby areas. This will not likely stop Israeli troops.
