The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on November 17 that a reservist was killed during fighting in the Gaza Strip a day earlier.
The slain soldier was named as Sergeant First Class dan Kenan, 21, of the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion, from the central city of Ramat Gan. According to an initial IDF probe, Kenan was killed by sniper fire in the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
The al-Qassam Brigade, the military wing of the Gaza-ruling Hamas Movement, said on November 16 that its nippers killed an IDF soldier in cooperation with the al-Ansar Brigade. However, it said that the soldier was targeted in the al-Zeitoun district of Gaza City. Video footage of the attack was released by the group.
Other videos released by the al-Qassam Brigades in recent days showed its fighters firing rockets at IDF positions in the occupied Natsarim corridor in central Gaza in cooperation with the Jihad Jibril Brigades, and targeting several main battle tanks, armored personnel carriers and armored bulldozers in Beit Lahiya and the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza.
The latest death brought Israel’s toll in the ground operations against Hamas and other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza and along its border to 377. More than 2,400 others have been reportedly wounded. In addition, over 500 vehicles were hit in the Strip, according to Hebrew media. A helicopter also crashed.
On the Palestinian side, the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza has exceeded 43,000, with women and children making up most of the casualties.

i can understand why the idf are suffering from psychological trauma. urban warfare of this nature would destroy the best of armies. the landscape looks like stalingrad. the idf have created an implacable enemy who have nothing to lose. the russians quiet wisely have avoided this in ukraine with a couple of unavoidable exceptions.
