The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on April 9 released footage showing some of its recent operations in the Gaza Strip and provided some details on the matter.

Some 45 strikes hit targets in Gaza over the last 24 hours, the military said in a statement, adding that the targets included weapons manufacturing sites, primed rocket launchers, buildings used by fighters, ammunition depots, and cells of fighters.

In the same statement, the IDF announced that Israeli troops were still advancing on the ground in multiple directions across the Strip.

In the area of Rafah in southern Gaza, the military said that troops of the Gaza Division located several tunnel shafts in the town of Tel Sultan.

Nearby, between Rafah and the city of Khan Younis, the 36th Division advanced in the so-called Morag Corridor area, according to the military, which said that troops located and destroyed several buildings and other infrastructure used by Hamas, along with tunnels, and also killed several fighters.

Meanwhile in northern Gaza, the 252nd Division advanced in Gaza City’s eastern Shejaiya neighborhood, where the military said troops killed several fighters in the past day, including by directing strikes.

Videos released by the military showed some of the recent strikes that targeted Gaza, as well as Israeli troops opening fire while advancing in open fields and dense urban areas within the Strip.

On the other side, health arteries in Gaza said on April 9 that at least 36 people were killed by Israeli fire in the last 24 hours.

More than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed since the IDF renewed its operations in Gaza on March 18, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that was brokered by the United States, Egypt and Qatar last January. In total, the Israeli war on the Strip has so far claimed the lives of more than 50,800.

In recent weeks, the IDF managed to occupy several key parts of the Strip without facing any real resistance from Hamas or any other Palestinian armed faction.

The Israeli military success in Gaza will complicate efforts to renew the ceasefire. Israel has already expanded its operations in the Strip several times, and made new demands to the intermediaries. Hamas, which still holds more than 50 hostages, will have to make seiouse concessions to end the war.
