An F-15 fighter jet of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) made an emergency landing in Tel Nof Air Base, located approximately 25 kilometers to the south of Tel Aviv city, on April 11 after suffering from a technical malfunction, according to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, known as Kan in Hebrew.

The fighter Jet sustained damage after the landing, Kab reported, noting that the incident didn’t result in any casualties.

The IAF’s F-15 fleet is Israel’s primary weapon for long-range strikes. Interestingly enough, the incident at Tel Nof Air Base was reported right after the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he had visited an undisclosed F-15 base.

During his visit, Netanyahu vowed to retaliate against any attack Iran could launch in response to the April 1 Israeli strike on the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, which claimed the lives of 13 people, including senior commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“We are in challenging times. We are in the midst of a war in Gaza that is continuing with full force. In addition, we are continuing with ceaseless efforts to return our hostages, but we are also preparing for challenges from other fronts,” Netanyahu told pilots at the base.

“We set a simple principle: Anyone who hits us, we hit them,” Netanyahu said in apparent reference to Iranian threats to carry out strikes against Israel. “We are ready to fulfill our responsibilities to Israel’s security, in defense and attack.”

“I, and the whole of Israel, trust you,” the prime minister said to the F-15 pilots, wishing them “much success.”

A day earlier, Bloomberg reported that a major Iranian attack on Israel was imminent and could happen in the coming days.

Citing people familiar with U.S. and Israeli intelligence assessments, the news outlet said that Iran could launch strikes involving high-precision missiles and suicide drones targeting military and government sites inside Israel.

General Michael Kurilla, head of the United States Central Command, arrived in Israel on April 11, reportedly to hold consultations with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and other officials to discuss the threat of an Iranian attack.
