Israeli Media Claims New War Against Hezbollah Inevitable

A Hezbollah fighter stands at a watch tower at Juroud Arsal, the Syria-Lebanon border. Photo: REUTERS

High Level Military Group, a project of the Friends of Israel Initiative comprising former generals and high-ranking officials from NATO and allied countries, released a report on October 25 assessing Hezbollah’s current state.

They claim Hezbollah has stockpiled roughly 100,000 rockets and missiles since its last conflict with Israel in 2006; acquired anti-tank and unmanned aerial equipment; trained its men in combat alongside Bashar al-Assad forces in Syria; and spread its military assets among virtually every Shi’ite town in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli media jumped at the opportunity, claiming the report as proof of an inevitable full-out war between Israel and Hezbollah. The report claimed that, according to “Israeli policymakers”, “any war would be the result of a miscalculation by Iran and Hezbollah, forcing a response on Israel’s part.”

Although the report notes that Israel’s defense forces faced broad international criticism for their conduct in 2006, it claims that “the international environment has changed since the previous war,” and that “a defensive assault on Hezbollah, a terror organization now strongly associated with Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria, will generate initial support not only from the United States, but also from other Western countries, in addition to tacit but increasing support from the Sunni Arab world.”

Israeli officials have warned that the next war will escalate quickly because Israel will be  “forced” to preemptively strike at Hezbollah’s rocket stockpiles before facing retaliation.

Considering the fact that the Israeli military has deployed thousands of air, sea and land personnel to the Lebanese border in September for its biggest military drill in almost two decades, Israel’s intentions seem obvious. The last time the IDF held a drill of this scale was in 1998, when it simulated a seven-day war with Syria. The two countries have been in a state of conflict for decades.

Israël = bad guys. Hezbollah = good guys

Joe

Well interesting to see if Israel can win which most doubt.

Hez and partners Syria, Iran and allies can easily handle it

Nigel Maund

Israel is now smarting at it’s failure with ISIS and all the Proxy Armies in Syria and the victory of Assad and his Allies over the Israel, US and NATO backed extremist Proxy Armies to destroy Assad’s legitimate Government they call a “Regime”.

The battle experienced and much hardened Hezbollah played a substantial role in Syria’s overall success and now the Israeli’s are scared and much aggrieved that their plan to Balkanize and completely neuter the Middle East and its key petroleum resources has come apart at the seams. Their only option left on the table is to engineer another war and seek to justify it by some “False Flag” event and get their controlled Western MSM to suitably dress it all up so that they appear to be the good guys waging a just war. What a joke!…………. but the gullible “West”will no doubt go along with all of this as the MSM still has the “sheeple” sucked in with their propaganda. However, Syrian and Hezbollah are now backed by a much stronger Syria, Russia and Iran with Turkey and Iraq joining their side; so Israel despite its massive military strength now has a major problem to navigate to commence and war and win it. It may not be quite so simple and they may well become seriously bogged down after some initial “shock and awe” successes.

There’s no doubt that Israel will not lie down and accept the new status quo in the Middle East and it will be the aggressor and will be out to redeem its military prowess after it’s last demoralising beating by Hezbollah.

zman

Unfortunately for Israel, their opponents are now stronger and more dangerous than ever. Hezbollah claims to have new missiles also in Lebanon, declaring that they will target facilities like Dimona. This what Israels campaign of attacking Hezbollah supply lines is supposedly all about. What remains to be seen is whether or not they have been successful. I think they have not. Probably Iran has supplied them with their clones of Russian manpads as well. This means no Israeli copters in battle. Confiscated TOW missiles, etc. will find their way to Lebanon, if they haven’t already. Israel has sown the seeds of it’s own destruction and their allies, by virtue of flooding the area with advanced weapons at Israels request, has helped.

Nigel Maund

Good commentary and I feel correct; thanks!

Enkidu

Read this as = Israel is invading Syria in the very near future

TiredOfBsToo

Russia should view this as the US pursuit of destroying Syria with yet more false excuses and warn Israel that they will be shot down when crossing into Syrian air space. Russia cannot fail to act this time!

Enkidu

I really hope Russia defends Syria from Israel, but I’m definitely not counting on it, unfortunately.

TiredOfBsToo

If Russia is serious about Syria’s territory, they’re going to have to do something, otherwise, their foray into Syria was for nought and will be received as such by the Russian people. Of course this could be exactly what the terrorist state of Israel and other states supporting terrorism in Syria have in mind. I think Putin will have to do something, whether it’s covert or overt, who knows, but he can’t afford to allow this to happen.

My personal belief is: when confronted with bullies, you have to speak to them in the only language that they understand and beat the p*ss out of them. Time and time again when a person acquiesces to a bully, the bully is emboldened further. My only hope is that Putin’s chessboard skills allow for a much better result than confronting the gang of terrorists and their state sponsored supporters in Israel and elsewhere, using the language of bullies.

heydad

There are more Russian jews in Israel that are becoming a majority. I suspect a major shift in political convergence between Russia and Israel as we get closer to the failing of the Western Empires. This along with other Zionist/globalist objectives that engrain themselves in all political matters on both sides of every conflict, therefore there will never be a swift and forceful response by Russia on the Zionist incursions into their interest. At the end of the day they all will bow to Zionist influence when they make the switch. God help us all

TiredOfBsToo

I stand by my view and hope you’re wrong for all of our sakes; still, one never truly knows until the dust settles.

dontlietome

I have heard this theory before, but it has a major flaw, you are speaking about Russian-kazarhian-Jews ( who ethnically are NOT Russian) but more Zionist in every aspect thro and thro’ and have nothing in common with the emerging Orthodox Christian Russian society, whose memories are still raw from the deaths of 20 million + Russians at the hands of the Jewish-kazarhian- Bolsheviks The modern Russians of today know enough about history to know that the day of reckoning with these murdering monsters is long outstanding……………. The convergence you speak of will never happen.

Joe

Syria is on trouble because of the pipeline that would have destroyed Russia if Assad had allowed it .

So Russia has no choice actually to defend Syria or Assad can just allowed that pipe line and make money while Russia would go bankrupt.

This is Russia’s war actually

So Russia will support Assad come what may

Mountains

In my opinion militarily speaking Israel should attack and invade Lebanon right now and wipe out things there or it will be to late to little. Their worst enemy is time. As much as time ticks they get closer to inevitable invasion.

I don’t see them being able to defend themselves in the next decade due to the developing technology so imo it’s now or never to secure the future.

I say Attack with certainity. By 2030 they can’t defend themselves officially and have to be assisted to remain there by foreign powers but I doubt the US or EU will assist them nor Russia. They will be left alone there to fend for themselves and they will have zero chances to survive

swirlydragon

Invade Lebanon? Wipe out things? Are you implying they should slaughter innocent Lebanese men, women and children (like what they did with Syria) and what they did with Lebanon before? I swear you people have no heart! Disgusting!

Mountains

No just infrastructure and return them back few years

swirlydragon

And how do you people plan to bomb infrastructure without killing civilians?

Elisabeth Jenders

Who would attack Israel if they were civilized and peaceful towards their neighbours and treated the Palestinians as their equals?

Helen4Yemen

Let me get this: a person comes busting through your door and takes up 80% of your house and gives you a little room in the back. This person now wants to be your friend, he will even bring you to go food on his way home, he smiles at you, hugs your children. Is he good enough to be your friend? This European simply arrived and took Arab land by force.

The Hasbara troll strikes AGAIN !

zman

Yes, Israel should attack Lebanon. This would show the Lebanese that support Israel what a pack of backstabbing liars Israel is. On the other hand…If Israel thinks that it has been successful at keeping new weaponry out of the hands of Hezbollah, I think they will find that they have not. Just as Hezbollah kicked the crap out of Israel in 06 without advanced weapons, the next time around Hezbollah will not be fighting a purely defensive war…they will go offensive, as they have stated, and Israel will see what real devastating missiles, not toy katyushas, can do. All it will take is one or two missiles hitting one or two sensitive targets and that’s the end of Israel. When they do suffer actual massive destruction and casualties at the hands of Hezbollah, not blown up trash cans and frayed nerves from katyushas, they can go back to Bibi and thank him for getting the youth in the IDF killed, civilians slaughtered, infrastructure wasted and economy ruined…in short, the complete destruction of Israel. Israel cannot, at this time, defend themselves against a concerted attack. This is their own doing. Their enemies now have newer, superior weapons and battle hardened troops. The Israelis can go on about their Samson option all they want. They can’t destroy the world, but they can push the world to destroy them. So much for their Samson Option. No sane person would pursue this line, but it seems there is no sane person running any country in the west, much less Israel.

Cloak And Dagger

If Israel attacks Lebanon, it will be the end of Israel. As you have correctly pointed out, Hezbollah has significantly enhanced its armory since 2006 – and even in 2006, Israel was surprised by how their Intelligence agencies failed to get stock of Hezbollah capabilities which left 40 of their much vaunted Merkava tanks as smoking piles of burning metal from hand-held anti-tank missiles.

http://www.indymedia.ie/attachments/jun2013/merkava_on_fire.jpg

There was an excellent 3-part analysis of the 2006 war done by the Asia Times: http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/HJ12Ak01.html

The conclusion of the article was:

“From the onset of the conflict to its last operations, Hezbollah commanders successfully penetrated Israel’s strategic and tactical decision-making cycle across a spectrum of intelligence, military and political operations, with the result that Hezbollah scored a decisive and complete victory in its war with Israel.”

It was clear that the Hezbollah is not a rag-tag group of ignorant militants, but a sophisticated military force with advanced intelligence and counter-intelligence skills. They have only enhanced those skills and their armaments in the last 11 years, and the experience in fighting alongside Syria has made them lethal.

Israel should attack them at their own peril.

Solomon Krupacek

If Israel attacks Lebanon, it will be the end of Israel.

netanyahu knnows this?

dontlietome

I am a realist, and what bothers me, is that Hezbollah are strong at the moment, strong in fervour, in conviction, in training and in certain weapons…………….. and the satanists know this. They will engage in a war of attrition, to kill as much of the Hezbollah manpower as possible…………….it is this that is their ONLY aim. The battle will be in two parts, firstly to weaken the Hezbollah and its allies, that will allow another main attack to sweep thro’ the Lebanon and perhaps attack Damascus. Most of the satanist attacks either via air or land, will be remotely controlled, they will not commit troops except essential espionage and Sigint until the defences of Hezbollah are suitably softened up or destroyed. What bothers me the most is that the Hezbollah lack real in-depth AA protection. These battles will be different to all those that have gone before, because AI will play a major role and the satanists lead in this technology. I would love to see the Hezbollah win resoundingly and push the jooish paedophiles back into the sea………………. but much will also depend on the actions of the RF and whether-or-not it will sit out the main conflict, or will it provide a protective AA umbrella Hezbollah forces on the ground ?

wwinsti

Hezbollah is still very much an insurgency based force, despite all the hype. They did not have AA cover in 2006, and were bombed mercilessly. Yet the very nature of their tactical fighting practically necessitates an enemy attack. They need Israeli troops to expose themselves to hit and run tactics. Even the mobile launchers used by Hezbollah were use-once-and-discard. It didn’t matter if the Israelis bombed them, they couldn’t be used again anyway.

Long range missiles should be seen as bait, for both the Israeli army to move into urban areas, and for fear mongering neocons to push them there.

Israel leadership has decided that it is completely reasonable to sacrifice thousands of jewish lives in their next war of aggression. They will start it, but any retaliation will be a “genocide” and a new “holocaust” justifying even a nuclear response. This is a sign of how insanity has taken over the minds of the jewish leaders. The other sure sign is that they are happy to support terrorist insurgents for a perceived gain in the short term. If they attack with nukes the conflict will become global and western economies will rapidly collapse as the Saudis will surely become a big target.

TiredOfBsToo

Zionists are generally Jews, but not exclusively. I’m sure the US Congress, whose majority always supports Zionism, is not Jewish, but is controlled by the Zionist lobby AIPAC, through money.

Israel is a despicable and terrorist entity, but I refuse to paint all Jews as Zionists just as I refuse to paint all Muslims as being part of Islamic State.

goingbrokes

I have a feeling you might be responding to someone else’s point, but never mind. I agree, probably most of zionists are not jews, particularly in the US. Even the term zionism is changing. The early zionists, many of them, simply wanted a homeland so they could live like normal people. But talmudism and judaic communism and banker capitalism has a new type of membership. And the reality of having a jewish state also means that the old motivation was redundant. Rather than building a rational state and reasonable foreign policy, Israel has decided to pursue a violent course of a supremacist apartheid society. Part of that mind-set is military superiority in all fields. In the early days it wasn’t so hard with many of their military had a high level European training and battlefield experience. It was easy to beat the not-very-warlike Arabs then, but now that Hezbollah and others are stronger and engaging in asymmetrical warfare much has changed. But supporting terrorist insurgents is a long term cul-de-sac and will come back to bite them.

TiredOfBsToo

I agree with you mostly, though I would disagree that early Zionists had any other intention than what they are currently up to. They always had intentions of stealing land by killing it’s inhabitants; it’s in Ben Gurion’s writings from 1937.

http://mondoweiss.net/2012/03/we-must-expel-arabs-and-take-their-place-institute-for-palestine-studies-publishes-1937-ben-gurion-letter-advocating-the-expulsion-of-palestinians/

My disagreement with your previous comment was: “has taken over the minds of the jewish leaders.”

I find your comments to be pretty good actually, but many times I have to object to the term Jew being used to describe Zionists. I don’t feel it helps people coming to these sites for the first time with their indoctrinations, to shed their identity politics and examine the real meat of the arguments.

goingbrokes

I actually wasn’t referring to zionists and calling them jews. I actually was talking about the jews in Israel – zionist or not. My words about “jewish leaders” was also meant to jews, and not zionists, in Israel or outside it. Whilst there are many zionists who are not jewish, it is actually the jewish leaders who call the shots what happens in Israel. (If they do not, they should be.) As to early zionists I actually meant pre Balfour declaration people – for me Ben Gurion is very much one of the late leaders as Israel became into existence during his time. The discussion has become quite complicated with shifting meanings and goals.

TiredOfBsToo

I understand. I believe the only Jews that should inhabit the land stolen by Zionists are those Jews that existed there before the massive import of Zionists from around the world. If a Jewish person moves from another country to Israel, they’re automatically Zionists. What about generations now born there that don’t agree with the politics of Zionism and have never known any other home? The problem, as I see it, is that people hear the word ‘Jew’ and will automatically turn off from reading (as they’ve been conditioned by Zionism) from investigating any further; labels will then just be exchanged.

When you mention leaders, aren’t the policies of Israel exactly because the majority of Jewish leaders in Israel are Zionists? Just like the decent people of the ‘West’ who don’t long for ww3, they comprise the minority and the powerless, just like the non-Zionist Jews in Israel.

Helen4Yemen

“. What about generations now born there that don’t agree with the politics of Zionism and have never known any other home?”

Well, first of all, I’m all for the dispossessed Palestinians to return home. I’ve said it many times that Zionists use religion as an excuse to further their greed and lust for power. It’s their claiming to be Jewish which confuses people in their anger at the death and destruction meted out by the terrorist state of Israel and it’s monetary control of the US war machine.

Exodus 34:11 I will force out the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, but you must do what I command you today.

Exodus 34:24 I will force the nations out of your land and enlarge your borders. Then no one will try to take your property when you come to worship me these three times each year.

Numbers 32:21 You also agreed to cross the Jordan and stay with the rest of the Israelites, until the Lord forces our enemies out of the land.

Numbers 33:52 you must force out the people living there. Destroy their idols and tear down their altars.

Numbers 33:55 If you don’t force out all the people there, they will be like pointed sticks in your eyes and thorns in your back. They will always be trouble for you,

Deuteronomy 7:2 the Lord will force them out of the land. Then you must destroy them without mercy. Don’t make any peace treaties with them,

Deuteronomy 7:22 As you attack these nations, the Lord will force them out little by little.

Deuteronomy 9:1 Moses said: Israel, listen to me! You will soon cross the Jordan River and go into the land to force out the nations that live there.

Joshua 3:10 The Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, and the Jebusites control the land on the other side of the river. But the living God will be with you and will force them out of the land when you attack. And now, God is going to prove that he’s powerful enough to force them out.

2 Chronicles 20:7 Our God, you forced out the nations who lived in this land before your people Israel came here, and you gave it to the descendants of your friend Abraham forever.

Numbers 33:55 If you don’t force out all the people there, they will be like pointed sticks in your eyes and thorns in your back. They will always be trouble for you, 56 and I will treat you as cruelly as I planned on treating them.

Interesting poll. The result across all Americans seems to majorily support Israel; be it Jew on Non-Jew. Doesn’t surprise me one bit as the MSM constantly drums up support for Israel and fails to present the Palestinian side. How effective is it? Well, witness now that the majority are drowning in anti-Russian hysteria. In such a situation, would ones religion, favor positively towards others claiming same? Yes. What would be interesting in the US would be a poll taken say, a year after the Palestinian side is allowed to present their facts and views on MSM. Also there’s the bribe money of the Zionist AIPAC organization to Congress which couldn’t be more corrupt if it tried. As for Israel, any foreigner that moved to Israel is a Zionist and a terrorist!

Instructions for Conquering Canaan

Numbers 33:50 The Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying: 51 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: When you are crossing over Jordan into the land of Canaan, 52 then you will drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their carved images, and destroy all their molded images, and destroy all their high places, 53 and you will drive out the inhabitants of the land and dwell in it, because I have given you the land to inherit it. 54 You will possess the land by lot for an inheritance among your families, and to the larger you will give the larger inheritance, and to the smaller you will give the smaller inheritance. Every man’s inheritance will be in the place where his lot falls. By the tribes of your fathers you will inherit.

Numbers 33:55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those whom you let remain will be like thorns in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will show hostility to you in the land in which you live. 56 And what I had planned to do to them, I will do to you.

There is a popular saying among the very pro-Israel crowd, ‘imagine what would happen if Israel had no weapons, now imagine what would happen if only Israel had weapons’, to indicate how they are the good guys.

This would be a war to ensure that only Israel has weapons. Israel wants to preserve the status quo where they can bomb any neighbor without fear of retaliation. It would be a war of aggression. The truth is that both sides need weapons. Hezbollah is building up an inventory of deterrence.

Acctually Lebanon needs several things. They need a sense of nationhood which they lack – although most of my Lebanese friends would argue that. When push comes to shove they immediately stop being Lebanese and start being Sunni, Maronite, Druze, Alawite etc. They need an ally – logical ally would be Syria but they have some unfortunate history with it and anyway Syria can’t be anybody’s ally right now. They need to give up the idea that Saudi Arabia is their friend and protector – they’re not and they’ll cheer IDF massacring Lebanese if that means that some Shia and few Hezbollah members would be hurt. And last but not least – they need the best air defense system the money can buy. And then integrate it with Syrian AD – which brings us back to my point no.2. And to acquire all that, you are right – they do need to grow a pair. Otherwise they will always be Israel’s favorite collateral damage…

Maybe the sycophantic governments of the West will willingly fall into line, but this will further galvanise general populations against such ZioCon inspired policies. The anti-status-quo feelings sweeping across many of the ‘democratic’ developed nations can only continue to grow from such belligerent behaviour. Grist for the far-right? The NeoCons/Libs and Jewish elites have failed in Syria and Iraq and will now no doubt provoke direct military confrontation in order to mobilise their greatest allies, the US and UK. Congressional US warmongers mainly controlled by AIPAC, may well have their day in expanding ‘greater Israel’ after all. This is a very troubling development.

Cloak And Dagger

You are right on all counts and it is troubling, however, this was inevitable. Israel has created an unstable condition in the ME and continues its belligerent incursions into other peoples’ land, of course, including that of the Palestinians. There is a limit to how far you can back anyone into a corner, and that limit is far crossed.

With all its nukes and all its armaments provided by our government to Israel (besides all the stuff they stole, like nuclear triggers), Israel remains a tiny piece of real-estate. 100,000 Hezbollah rockets, combined with S-400 missiles from Syria and S-300 missiles and ICBMS from Iran, would create a mushroom cloud over Dimona without the use of nukes.

If Israel launches a pre-emptive attack, their intelligence agency has failed them (as it did in the 2006 war), and that will be the last that the world will see of Israel. The fallout from such a combat will affect Jews here in the US and also in Europe as they are finally held to account for instigating all the wars of the last 100+ years.

Unfortunately, a lot of people in the countries neighboring Israel will also suffer in this conflict – but they have already been suffering the death of a 1000 cuts for the last 75 years.

Hezbollah has amassed 100Ks missiles, ATGMs, arty pieces and armor, all since 2006. In last 11 years they never used it once against Israel – not even to retaliate against numerous air-strikes that killed some of it’s top leaders. That kind of Hezbollah behavior is obviously highly aggressive and provocative – I mean where do they get off NOT shooting their rockets at Israel for last 11 years. So Zio war machine needs to “defensively attack” Lebanon, again, by bombing it to the stone ages, again. The fact that these threats, empty or not, will result in Hezbollah withdrawing some or most of it’s forces from fighting ISIL, is just an unfortunate coincidence. Right? Because Israel would never jeopardize Universal War on Terror, right? Not even against their own proxy terrorists, right? WRONG!

“In last 11 years they never used it once against Israel”

this is lie

According to official UN reports from 2006-2014 you had on average 3-4 rockets A YEAR landing in Israel from Lebanon, causing 0 casualties, one propane tank exploded and some frighten civilians. You really think that compares to IDF killings of Lebanese, Syrian civilians and Hezbollah members in Syria.

Solomon Krupacek

landing. but nod shoot. the iron dome eliminated the most.

so, until this year hezbollah attacks civilians. this is clear terrorism.

Hrky75

If it didn’t land how do you know they were aiming for civilians. Bombing Syria’s civilian infrastructure and assassinating individuals using Lebanese air space IS the act of international terrorism and air-piracy.4 rockets per year not hitting it’s target is less ordnance than IDF used 2 days ago on alleged SAA artillery site near Golan.

Here’s an excellent analysis (and comments) on the next war between israel and Hezbollah:

this is good news!

i read on this form several tomes, that hezbollah will dig the grave of idf. so, we are waiting for these glorious days.

Good opportunity for Syria and Hezbollah to take back the stolen Syrian Golan Heights. Israeli soldiers too afraid to fight battle hardened Syrian Tiger Forces and Hezbollah; moreover, Syrians and Hezbollah itching to fight Israeli soldiers. Israeli soldiers show bravery with slaughtering Palestinian woman and children, such cowards. With Russian S-400 anti aircraft weapons, the Israeli bullies will get a bloody nose.

Mj

Another stupid war just to disturb the middle East because there won’t want world to talk about Palestinian situation.

Don't read butthurt replies

Long Live Hezbollah! North Korea should provide support for Hezbollah and Iran against these Zionist reptilians.
