Hezbollah launched more attacks from its heartland, southern Lebanon, against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on April 4.
In two separate statements, the group said its fighters shelled a newly-established headquarters of the IDF near the Liman site with artillery and fired rockets at gatherings of Israeli troops behind the Jal al-Alam site along the border with Lebanon.
The attacks were carried out “to support the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance,” Hezbollah noted in its statements.
Hebrew media reported damage at the settlement of Shlomi as a result of the rocket attack that targeted troop gatherings near Jal al-Alam site. However, there were no casualties.
In response to the attacks, the IDF announced that it carried out airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in the southern Lebanese towns of Yaroun, Aynata,and Maroun al-Ras. Lebanese media didn’t report any civilian casualties and Hezbollah didn’t announce any losses.
Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza last October, Hezbollah began launching near-daily attacks against the IDF in support of the Hamas Movement and other Palestinian armed factions in the Strip.
So far, the border clashes have resulted in eight civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of at least ten IDF soldiers and reservists. On the Lebanese side, more than 300 people have been killed, including 249 fighters of Hezbollah and at least 60 civilians.

the idf is basically a colonial police force. it isn’t actually a proper battle hardened fighting force. an israeli platoon is probably functioning at a lower fighting capability than a undermanned ukrainian squad. it has the veneer of competence because the airforce can attack with impunity but the ground force is hopeless and is being walloped by hamas with its limited arsenal. if israel invades lebanon her ground forces will get massacred and israeli cities directly attacked.
