A series of Israeli strikes hit crossings on the Syrian border before the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon entered into effect early on November 27.
The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, a London-based pro-opposition monitoring group, reported that a total of ten official and unofficial crossings with Lebanon in the governorates of Tartus, Homs and Rif Dimashq were targeted by Israel.
The state-run Syrian Arab News Agency confirmed later that the crossings of Dabousiya in the western countryside of Homs and Arida in the southern Tartus countryside were hit.
The strikes on border crossings killed six people, including four civilians and two soldiers, and left more than 12 others wounded, a military official told the news agency, noting that the civilian victims included “Children, women and workers of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.”
In a statement, the Red Crescent said that a volunteer was killed and another was injured in “the aggression that targeted Dabousiya and Arida crossings … as they were performing their humanitarian duty of rescuing the wounded.”
The deadly Israeli strikes also damaged several ambulances and work points, the international humanitarian organization added.
A few hours after the strikes, a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that was brokered by the United States entered into effect. No additional strikes on Lebanon or Syria have been reported since then.
Speaking just before the ceasefire was announced, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israeli military was “systematically blocking” attempts by Iran, Hezbollah and the Syrian military to transfer weapons into Lebanon.
Netanyahu went on to say that “Assad must understand that he is playing with fire,” in what appears to be a clear threat to the Syrian President.

a wanted war criminal threatening foreign leaders. that is terrorism.
what do you expect from a country founded by terrorist organizations (irgun, stern gang) that rebranded as the “idf”? zionist/marxist terrorist organizations were the first in the middle east to use ied, carbombings, terrorist tactics attributed to “arabs” nowadays. the zionists invented terrorism. and project it onto the arabs. it’s been their play book since 1948 and even long before when the british allowed them to immigrate from russian empire and soviet union
yerunda—anglos have been terrorizing many societies for centuries—spain in latin america, france in africa etc
