Tel Aviv is stepping up military operations in Lebanon and increasing the intensity of airstrikes on Beirut and other areas. On November 25, Israeli warplanes launched another massive attack on the Lebanese capital, mainly targeting its southern outskirts and the central part of the city.
The strikes were launched both at night and in the morning. Prior to the attack, the Israeli military warned the residents of the municipality of Herat Hreik and urged them to evacuate ahead of the imminent strikes.
The Israeli Air Force has recently intensified its bombing of Dahieh, the areas on the southern outskirts of Beirut that are mainly controlled by Hezbollah.
Another devastating wave of strikes targeted Beirut on November 23. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the city center killed at least 20 people. According to Israeli military officials, the strike was an attempt to assassinate a senior Hezbollah military commander, Muhammad Haydar, but its goal was not achieved. LINK
The IDF claim that the targets of their attacks are Hezbollah command posts but civilian infrastructure and thousands of civilians are suffering devastating damage. The war in Lebanon has already claimed the lives of more than 3,500 people, and almost 15,500 more have been injured. Almost a quarter of the population were forced to leave their homes. Today, there are large-scale power outages in the city after strikes on energy stations. Due to the huge destruction in the Lebanese capital, schools have been closed until January. Other parts of the country are also pounded by Israeli warplanes.
The IDF also continue their “limited ground raids” in the border areas in southern Lebanon. In the western direction, Israeli troops are advancing in the northeast of Al-Bayada and in the area of Al-Naqoura, seeking to surround Hezbollah forces near the coast and cut them off from the city of Tyre. In the northeastern direction, Israeli forces have occupied Deir Mimas and are slowly advancing in the south of Khiam.
Hezbollah is striking back. Its fighters launch daily rocket attacks on Israeli territory. The movement claimed that it had conducted 51 operations in Lebanon and Israel the day before, attacked nine military bases, 14 cities and settlements, five barracks and other military facilities, and 18 areas of deployment of Israeli troops.
A new wave of attacks on Lebanon is ongoing at the moment when there reports about the alleged approach of a truce agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
hezbollah should make as much destruction as does idf. if they have heavier missiles, they should use them now or iof will continue to destroy lebanon, as they threatened to. lebanon is taking a beating and ‘israel’ does not bleed enough. their buildings should not just burn, but be turned to dust. this would be one for one. when israeli’s come out of their bunkers, they should see smouldering piles.
