Japan summoned Chinese diplomats on Saturday in connection with protests against some 230 Chinese ships’ approaching to the disputed Senkaku islands (Diaoyudao Islands) in the East China Sea, the RIA Novosti news agency reported on August 6.
“This is a unilateral act that raises tensions … and it is unacceptable to us,” the director-general of the Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Kenji Kanasugi, told the Chinese Embassy in Japan.
Reportedly, about 230 Chinese fishing boats, accompanied by six China Coast Guard vessels, approached to the disputed islands on August 5. Some of the Coast Guard vessels were allegedly armed with guns.
The incident occurred just a day after six Chinese fishing boats and two China Coast Guard vessels were detected in the same area.
The Senkaku islands are the subject of a territorial dispute between China and Japan. Japan claims that the country occupies the islands since 1895, while Beijing reminds that Japanese maps of 1783 and 1785 years show that the Diaoyudao Islands are a Chinese territory.
The Chinese Navy has been repeatedly accused by Japan of invading the Japanese territorial waters, in particular sailing in the contiguous zone near the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. In 2014, China and Japan agreed to reduce tensions over the disputed islands.
However, it seems that China starts to have more and more claims in the region.

What will induce the “king of the north” to enter into the south? Jesus said: “For nation will rise against nation”, as in 2008, and then …
