AlMasdarNews reports: Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) launched the 2nd phase of their Aleppo offensive this week, attacking the western corridor of the city in order to lift the siege on the eastern neighborhoods.
With thousands of fighters storming the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses in west Aleppo, Jaysh Al-Fateh attempted to overwhelm the latter by sheer numbers.
Following several suicide bombings, Jaysh Al-Fateh would quickly advance inside several neighborhoods before having to withdraw due to heavy resistance from the Syrian Arab Army and their allies.
All-in-all, the 2nd phase of Jaysh Al-Fateh’s offensive yielded them little progress in west Aleppo and heavy casualties as a result of 48 hours straight of intense firefights with the Syrian Arab Army.
According to a military source in Aleppo, the jihadist rebels suffered an estimated 80-100 casualties over the last 48 hours, with most of their dead being recorded inside the New Aleppo District.
At New Aleppo, the jihadist rebels initially infiltrated the Syrian Army’s first line of defense during the first hours of the battle; however, this success would be short-lived, after they were forced to withdraw due to the large number of casualties they sustained.
Not very devoted, these ‘holy warriors.’ 80-100 casualties, so at best, 30-40 dead? Any ordinary infantry battalion of faithless infidels could be expected to incur losses like that in two days of genuinely determined assault in an urban environment. I just don’t see any evidence of belief in Allah’s favour here. And that is assuming the Syrian estimate is accurate. It is typical for estimates of enemy casualties to be twice as high (or more) as the true number, unless you are meticulously counting bodies (and only bodies, not parts, blood trails or other nonsense.) Where is your faith, guys? If an infidel like me can’t see your devotion, do you think someone as exacting as Allah is impressed?
These are not Holy Warriors , and I’m sure the “Lord of the Worlds” is not impressed . The seventy two virgins will be frigid !
