Jihadi Factions Launches Full-Scale Operation to Lift Siege from East Aleppo

Click to see the full-size map

Various jihadi factions, including Ahrar al-Sham, al-Jabhat al-Islāmiyyah (the Islamic Front), Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest), Ajnad al-Sham and Suqour al-Jabal united efforts in an attempt to break the siege from east Aleppo that had been set up by the Syrian government forces earlier this week. The main goal of the militant advance is to re-open the strategic Castello Highway that leads to the militant-held areas of Aleppo city.

Clashes erupted at south and southeast Aleppo city. According to Ahrar al-Sham’s spokesperson the clashes are ongoing at a 20km long frontline. However, the main efforts of the militants are concentrated at new Syrian army check points that had been set up at the Castello Highway.

Jihadi factions set up tyres in Idlib-Aleppo countryside attempting to limit visibility for Russian and Syrian warplanes.

Let’s see if the Russians finally learned how to do interdiction missions.

John Whitehot

yeah sure. pity you’re not doing them since you know better.

Gryphonne

Indeed I do. Also, I know punctuation much better.

Gryphonne

You make no sense, but it’s ok. I respect that.

John Whitehot

you make less sense than me. Russian grouping demonstrated excellent deep interdiction performance in the first part of the syrian operation, when it had unrestricted targeting and destroyed offensive capabilities of the jihadist forces. With the ceasefire it became impossible to target groups like al-sham and even al-nusra, as its forces intermingled among groups included in cease fire documents. Nowadays, RuAF operations seemingly gained momentum again and I suspect that offensive operations against Aleppo will be met with a high number of airstrikes. On your part, it’s impossible to judge the performance of the RuAF in a particular type of mission, as public media sources don’t get enough details to discriminate how the aircraft have been used, on what targets and with what kind of ammunition. So go make sense on jihadist or zio sites where the need of critics to the RuAF grouping is constantly increasing.

Gryphonne

Gooby pls. You have no clue what you’re talking about. I’m pro SAA, but that really doesn’t get through your thick skull as you so very aptly demonstrated. The RuAF has been performing like shit, all they do is blanket bomb some targets and cheer at their success whereas they haven’t stopped a single jihadi – that mattered – offensive effectively. Isis was parading out in the open at taqba and palmyra. What did they do? Shit. They let the jihadis take south aleppo and kinsabba. Now, I will say no more cause you’re not worthy of my lengthy post.

John Whitehot

lol you’re one of the most stupid persons to ever comment here. That equates to a symmetric reply to yours. And the meme “You have no clue..”, yes it’s the one used by folks who have no clue, mostly brainwashed yanks, russia-haters or keyboard-jihadists. Your problem is blabbering sentences about the performance of a armed force without having the most basic information – as you get your facts on public sources. You’re one of a series of fucktards regressing to almost bot-state who write shit around the web only containing their wishful-thinking hope that things go bad for russia or its allies. You folks believe you are able to get real information because you can do a google search. Let me tell you a secret – you are not getting more info than 20 years ago from television. 99% of what you find on the internet is garbage, wishful thinking of one or the other side and propaganda inserted by various kinds of puppetteers. Your only hope is to look at the effect of a certain happening and draw the conclusions using that unknown device every human being has installed inside the skull. In this case – it’s easily done: ragheads were winning before russian intervention, they started losing since then. That’s all. If you think you can get into discussing “interdiction” missions, opposed to “CAS” and so on, your buffoonery goes to the point that it clouds your judgement as, you have not access to the most basic information needed to draw even a general picture on the topic. That said, of course you’ve got nothing else to say, as gems like “the russians let jihadists take south aleppo” are embarassing even to analphabets living on another planet

Gryphonne

What? What meme? What on earth are you talking about. You’re making a fool out of yourself, like any average internet couch potato keyboard warrior does. You’re not worth my effort.

John Whitehot

you must be one of those bots the pentagon is using in several websites. What meme ? “You have no clue..” is the meme used by folks who have no arguments. You showed just that, as you’re unable to type anything else than insults and idiocies. “Clueless” is the best definition one can use about your kind, the kind that spews bullshit without knowing nothing – not because of ignorance or stupidity – but because simply there is no information available. You started talking about “russian having to learn conducting interdiction mission”, and already embarassed yourself, as from what public info is available the russians did a great work just in that type of mission. Which leads me to believe you’re acting on some agenda, or you just hit a further stage of the involution of the human brain. Generally, calling others clueless when you are, really is a pathetic excuse for bullshitting and ranting without knowing other shit than, sooner or later, somebody is gonna take a dump all over you and your non-existant points worthy of the most terrorized yanks around the web.

Gryphonne

Stop talking already. Everyone here can see you’re an idiot. I’m not reading your crap anyway.

Jesus

Obviously you had your head buried in the sand throughout the Russian air campaign from October through March. Do you have any clue about its results? Or maybe I should say, look at the map of Syria before Oct 2015 and look at it now.

Gryphonne

Gooby, stahp.

John Whitehot

Apparently you are uninformed on the fact that the ragheads offensive got stopped in its tracks as several websites report heavy casualties. Oh but you root for the SAA. Go fuck yourself, and change name, this one is compromised, idiot.

Gryphonne

I said, stop talking. You’re just another raging lonely keyboard warrior on the internet to me. Which doesn’t equal a whole lot.

spinworthy

Over inflated ego with inferiority complex likes to talk tough in the comment section. Just another make believe expert spouting psyop drivel in favor of nato’s darling apes.

Gryphonne

All I see is another lonely internet potato with his right hand; all the joy you’ll ever know.

spinworthy

all i see is…..a nato propagandist that’s all you have? masturbation innuendo..wow you’re a force unto yourself. keep on beating yourself senseless.

Gryphonne

No, that’s merely all I’m willing to expend on you.

John Whitehot

lol I’ll stop talking coz you say so. You are idiotically similar to another user I normally quarrel with on another site, one that passes himself as a raghead supporter, or a turk, but in the end is always a zio whore. stop talking rotfl. Didn’t u just say you would cease the bullshitting? btw, since you were talking abt kinsibba, south aleppo, did anybody explain to you differences between tactical and strategic gain? because in the end you seem to reason just like the allahu akhbar types if you believe that the “advance” made by rebels mean anything, since they were actually winning the war in 2015, and by it i mean they were overrunning the country. Did they explain what “momentum” means in military terms? We’ll see who’s the lonely keyboard warrior, meanwhile, i’ll let you know that the ragheads actually performed their main attack in the south and a diversionary one in the north of the city – hence the first report talking about they being stopped in the north. Not that they are escaping slaughter anyway, these ones started attacks by using carbombs, which makes them the kind of “moderate rebels” that nobody in the civilized world would mourn as they are exterminated by russian bombs.

Gryphonne

You mad bro? Keep raging, it’s a new day, so I’d love to hear more.

spinworthy

bro…says it all! limited reasoning skills, all bluster. keep beating yourself…i’d love to hear more.

Gryphonne

You cannot form coherent sentences. All I see are salty tears of despair.

spinworthy

what bro, no more masturbation jokes?! come on now you were starting to sound so reasonable. i guess no capitals to start a sentence makes it incoherent? bro…read your own drivel. your attempts at innuendo and sarcasm are sounding rather adolescent (american perhaps?). give it up, you’re obviously having a degree of difficulty with comprehension.

Gryphonne

Nomnom, more tears of despair.

spinworthy

sounding incoherent again bro. what’s the matter? did your feelings get hurt? …waiting…waiting…

Gryphonne

Nah, I’m just mildly disappointed with your comeback. And I had such low expectations.

Sergio Gonzalez

Could you please provide me a source that reports that the offensive has been stalled? Even in Al- Masdar, ( https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/russian-air-force-emerges-southern-aleppo-help-drive-back-jihadists/ ) field reports say that SAA has lost several positions and even Khanasser is once again under a big ISIS attack. It will really be sad if the SAA loses all the recent progress they made. I hope that all the banter going on about the moderate beheaders having the upper hand is just cheap propaganda.

Jesus

The bulge created by the initial small gains by the rebels is an easy target to neutralize from the air. Their choice of attack at a point where Syrian defensive depth is not strong is obvious, the attacker alway picks the point of attack, however, by doing so, you are showing your hand and will be hammered from the air.

Jesus

Russian high command in Moscow stated 800 militants were killed. How exactly are these jihadis supposed to win without any air cover and inferior weaponry?

John Whitehot

The way I see it,the reason they made some tactical advances in the months after the ceasefire (which have been presented by jihadist propaganda as war-changing offensive) is that the Russian Air Force could not target groups like al-sham or jayish etc because of the agreement with US /UN. Also these groups were intermingling their units and logistics with al-nusra, so to make difficult targeting AN as well. Although it’s crystal clear that AN (or whatever name it has by the end of the day) and the “moderates” (which used suicide carbombs in Aleppo) share a common command, communication and supply chain infrastructure (and people), the US evidently did not want to upset its saudi friends by allowing russia to bomb them. Now it seems things changed.

Jesus

I think Russia confident of the eventual outcome, proposed a cease fire in an attempt to divide the various factions and sideline some of them. The majority of them chose to be uncooperative during the peace negotiations, rearming and resupplying via Turkey, then they started to make waves knowing well that Turkey was a sure supply line. That was before the attempted coup. Yes, the “moderates” intermingled communications and logistics with the “bad terrorists” hoping to confound any future Russian air attacks. Since US does not want to isolate/identify the location of of various groups on the ground, every time their mercenaries get slaughtered they call for cease fires and negotiations. Russia is not going go back in Switzerland for negotiations until Allepo is in Syrian army hands, and the Al Nursa is boxed in Idlib province neutralized. The Allepo magnet (becoming a meat grinder) is going to attract thousands of jihadis trying to break the siege, only to get slaughtered.

Jesus

What offensive are you referring to, your post does not make sense as a reply to what I posted.

Gryphonne

More incoherent rambling from someone who can’t read.

Jesus

“Obviously you had your head buried in the sand throughout the Russian air campaign from October through March. Do you have any clue about its results? Or maybe I should say, look at the map of Syria before Oct 2015 and look at it now.” REPLY “Gryphonne Jesus 20 hours ago Gooby, stahp. The jihadis massed a tonne of vehicles and men for this offensive and have already taken several positions. Where was the RuAFs interdiction? Oh… nowhere.”. Reply ” Jesus Gryphonne 3 hours ago What offensive are you referring to, your post does not make sense as a reply to what I posted….ReplyGryponne ” more incoherent ramblings from someone who can’ read.

I understand you are challenged understanding military matters, you have no desire to learn anything and choose and hide your ignorance behind irrelevant statements void of detail and truth, and resort to insults.

Gryphonne

Stahp.

Jesus

Your spoken words provide a glimpse of your know how, I do not have to analyze you, your words define the analysis of your person.

Gryphonne

What?

Jesus

Do you know who Jesus is? The Son of the living God? Do you know you sound and act rather pathetic in His presence?

Gryphonne

I know Jesus. Question is, do you know you cannot judge me for there is only one Judge and that is He?

Jesus

The words you speak judge you, Jesus will use your words and testimony for your judgement.

Gryphonne

Indeed He will. Naturally, the same applies to you.

Jesus

Based on the same apology let’s compare US coalition air campaign in Syria and Iraq for the last two years.

Gryphonne

I’m not pro US, pro Russia, pro Israel or whatever. They are all equally worthless, so your point is what exactly? Oh, that’s right, there’s none.

Jesus

It appears you missed the obvious reality to the question you asked regarding the effectiveness of Russian Air Force, as I indicated in a previous post, look at the map of Syrian controlled areas before Oct 2015 and and March 2016. I presume you have access to the maps and you can read them.

Gryphonne

Just, stop already. You have no idea what I’m talking about. I’m not going to read your ramblings any longer.

farplay

“Based on the same anology let’s compare US coalition air campaign in Syria and Iraq for the last two years.”

Just answer.

Gryphonne

Ok: It’s also shit, although they managed some success in Iraq with the Iraqi army advancing and stopped ISIS from taking Kobane. Just the way that the RuAF managed to provide cover for the SAA to advance in Syria. But that does not take away the fact that the jihadis have been pulling off an awful lot of succesful assaults and counter-attacks in Syria right under Russia’s nose. So tell me, does that answer satisfy you as well as warm the cockles of your little Kremlin-heart? :)

John Whitehot

actually, jihadists accomplished nothing offensively under “russian nose”, And there’s plenty of maps testifying just that. You little zionists snakes think you’ll get away with all the bullshitting, besides, who’s gonna stop your superior minds. Attentive people will notice how the crawlers appear and start the disinformation near pics or comments like the one anti-racist action posted at the top of the page.

Gryphonne

Kinsabba, southern Aleppo, Taqba. There’s some maps for you. Now it’s way past bedtime for you. So off you go, time to snuggle up on that imaginary girlfriend.

farplay

Do not be cynic.

None of us know, what exatcly want the russian. They reduced the number of airplanes by 60%. The rest is simply not enough. Why did do this, know maybe 200 people in the world.

On the other hand, under Assad live 10 000 000 inhabitants. Should be no problem build up army of 200 000 soldier. If the syrian will not risc own life, they have no chance.

Gryphonne

You are entirely correct. I’d hate to see another country fall to jihadis that torture and kill innocent people, as well as destroy a beautiful country, though. I honestly hope that Russian intervention will save the country, otherwise it will become a dump; just like Libya.

Jesus

You do not know what you are talking yourself, being influenced by lying narratives floating in the media, the reality of the matter is, there is no detailed information why the offensive towards Racqa stopped. I remember reading that Isis was introducing man pads in the area having shot down a Syrian jet and a Russian helicopter, therefore Syrian air power stayed out of the area allowing Backfire bombers flying from south Russia to attack the ISIS position during several sorties. That decision was made by the Russian command considering a number of factors you and I do not know anything about. However, if you understand the art of war, you can make educated guesses based on the situation on the ground. If ISIS concentrated forces to drive back the Syrian advance towards Tabka airfield, they became easy targets in the desert for carpet bombing by the Backfire bombers unleashing payloads of 50,000 lbs. As far as the Isis nuisance around Palmyra, that is all it is, a nuisance, their offensive capacity is minimal and is being attrited every time they want to fight.

XRGRSF

So if you support none of the above why are you commenting in this forum? If you have no loyalties, nothing you care about, and you consider all sides in the conflict worthless you are by definition ……………. useless (but, annoying).

Gryphonne

I did not say I had no loyalties. And loyalty does not equal usefulness. You really need an education badly if you think that. Also, if you would think for just one second, you would read my posts and see that I do actually support the SAA. So, by your own definition, does that mean you’re uneducated?

XRGRSF

I don’t have the time or interest to read the entire extensive library of your posts. However, I do think you are a classic example of an old maxim: “Rudeness is a mark of those who lack the intellect for civil discourse.”

Gryphonne

Ah yes, the classic holier than thou refuge when the Dunning-Kruger effect comes into play. I have proven you wrong and you dismiss and judge; truly, you have mastered the art of being small minded.

XRGRSF

Really ?

VGA

Cluster bomb the hell out of them! Wreck them. Ambush their convoys. Burn their homes with incendiary munitions.

Gryphonne

I wish they did that. Now the wonderful moderates are posting picture where they mass platoons of vehicles without so much as a care in the world. Unless this is some genius plan – which I doubt – this is going to cost all the gains they made in Aleppo.

eagleson

This is not good at all but i don’t think that this is going to cost them all the gains in Aleppo at least not yet.

Gryphonne

Not yet no, let’s hope the RuAF does something useful tonight/ tomorrow. There should be plenty of targets around. It’s too bad we can’t see the actual matchup between forces. I wonder what the number of forces is that the SAA has in the southern parts of Aleppo city. Unfortunately however, all these years of civil war have taken their toll.

eagleson

South of Aleppo at least a month or two ago most of the units was IRGC maybe that’s changed now.

Gryphonne

Well, it’s going to be interesting to see what will happen tonight. Hopefully some good news from the front. Hopefully this is a well thought out trap.

Real Anti-Racist Action

They burn toxic tires to run through the smoke and they do not know that Russian planes have filters that allow them to see right through all that lol. The anti-Syrian-Sunni will get cancer from this within a few short years, if any survive that long. The smoke may hinder the Syrian air forces yes, maybe even hinder the Iranian drones flying over head. But this will not hinder the Russians at all.

Grieved

Interesting. Whenever I see an upsurge in military action I also see a surge in tr*ll comments wherever I go.

It does no good of course. Just as the soldiers who die have failed because history is against them, so the tr*lls who populate the comment threads fail because the ammunition they are given is completely out of date, and second rate, compared with the truth of what is happening in today’s multi-polar world.

Do not feed them. They earn less shekels if no one interacts.
