On May 14th, US Presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden said that if he were elected, he would not pardon current US President Donald Trump.
He also said that any prosecutorial decisions would be left to a more independent Justice Department.
He was asked by a viewer if he would follow the example of former President Gerald Ford, who pardoned Richard Nixon in large part to help the nation move beyond the Watergate scandal.
However, Biden said he wouldn’t do so.
Biden said he was committed to ensuring that any prosecutorial decisions would be dictated by the law, in contrast to what he called the “dereliction of duty” by Trump and his attorney general, William Barr.
Essentially, the politics in the US and the election campaign is basically shifting away from actual politics and policy promises and rather towards setting scores and chasing popularity. After all, if Biden were to only promise not to pardon Trump, and make no other promises and he were to be elected, then, he has leeway to follow any agenda he chooses.
“It’s hands off completely. The attorney general is not the president’s lawyer. It’s the people’s lawyer,” Biden said. “We never saw anything like the prostitution of that office like we see it today.”
Biden was also asked to clarify whether he was aware of or participated in decisions related to incoming Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn during his final weeks as vice president in 2017.
Trump and Co. have accused Biden and former President Barack Obama of a conspiracy to entrap Flynn as part of a larger scheme to undercut the incoming administration, which they have dubbed “Obamagate.”
“I was never a part or had any knowledge of any criminal investigation into Flynn while I was in office, period. Not one single time,” Biden said.
Biden was asked how he didn’t know anything about the FBI investigating Flynn at the time when “you were reported to be at a Jan. 5, 2017, meeting where you and the president were briefed on the FBI’s plan to question Michael Flynn over those conversations he had with the Russian Ambassador Kislyak.”
And that question was deemed “accurate” because according to an unnamed senior Obama administration official “with direct knowledge” the meeting did not include any discussion of an FBI investigation into Flynn or of FBI questioning of Flynn about his contacts with the Russians.
Most of the discussion, as it can be seen and heard, was focused on COVID-19 and how in an alternate reality, if Joe Biden were president, he would presumably handle the entire situation, much better than Donald Trump, of course.
“I hope if I’m president that Dr. Fauci will stay on in the administration,” Biden said, offering a vote of confidence in the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
In conclusion, the presidential campaign is turning more in a blame game, which only shows the level of current US politicians. On the one side is US President Donald Trump, essentially shifting responsibility on whoever comes before him, on the other side is Joe Biden, who presumably would be doing a much better job as president, but that’s entirely based on his claims, and there’s really no way to prove it.

I think most people would accept that Trump will go down as a shambles President who throughout his Presidency was only interested in his own image and using his position to bolster his own family’s wealth.

That said if anyone can surpass Trump for stupidity I’d be confident that Biden in the throws of dementia could, though even then it would be a very tough ask.
Hopefully with these two candidates America has reached the bottom of the barrel and in the future the can attract proper candidates to stand for election
If look back, will see that both Obama-era, legacy, federal bureaucrats and liberal media, who largely promote reckless Neo-Con wars, applied colossal pressure against Trump over foreign policy in first weeks of office. Recall Flynn was hounded from office, and maliciously prosecuted as a warning to others, for being a moderate policy advocate on US military interventionism. Trump may be a rich egotist, but the Clinton, Neo-Con, War-Party candidate would have committed US far deeper into lobbyist driven interventions against the Syrian state, and further reckless adventurism across the middle east.
US federal politics has been a shit show since JFK. The only argument on both sides is “the guy I elected is bad but not as bad as the guy you elected”. That’s just pathetic …. not that the leadership bar is set so low but that an entire nation is so indoctrinated that you don’t see that the clowns you choose in that farce you call “democracy” somehow make a difference to your lives.
No matter who you elect you get the same shit leadership. All the rich and powerful care is that you stay happy choosing between the 2 candidates they’ve already bought and paid for and don’t notice you’re the patsies that are carrying the cost of the military that keeps the spice flowing and the periodic bailouts that cover their gambling debts.

LOL! Biden had to be reading hand written answers since he’s incapable of thinking up a coherent complete sentence. Joe wouldn’t of answered that question about pardoning Trump if he still had a functioning brain because Trump hasn’t been convicted of anything while in office and any tax dispute loss with New York state will only result in back taxes paid and a fine. There isn’t a presidential campaign to speak of by either party. Trump has been winning over Democratic voters by his handling of this Covid 19 panic that’s been instigated by the MSM and DNC to discredit Trump and woo over voters by promising lots of money for everyone if they stay home instead of resuming their normal daily routines. Trump’s televised daily updates from the WH became so popular with voters that the MSM forced the networks to stop showing them, which didn’t set well with most Americans because those were actually entertaining! In the meantime, the DNC realized they had to keep Biden silent down in his basement since he was a disaster each time he did a live interview without knowledge of the questions that would be asked. A good number of Democrats are appalled of the thought of Biden heading their ticket in the Fall so will see that he’s replaced at their convention, which will turn into a circus as the moderates, liberals and progressives battle between themselves. It won’t matter since the Democrats are doomed to lose in the Fall.
