As SouthFront predicted, militant groups (Jabhat al-Nusra & Co), which operate inside and outside Aleppo, are not going to participate in the so-called ‘humanitarian pause‘ announced by the Syrian and Russian militaries.
On October 19, Syria and Russia reopened corridors in Aleppo, giving militants a chance to leave the city during mini-ceasefire scheduled for October 20. In turn, Jabhat al-Nusra (or Jabhat Fatah al-Sham) and its allies relaunched offensive operations in southwestern Aleppo and reportedly (according pro-militant sources) seized the whole 1070 Apartment Project. Clashes have been ongoing in the area since October 19 morning.
Any advances made by the Terrorists in Aleppo merely delays their defeat. They probably expended even more of their limited ammo in making those advances, making the areas they’ve taken even more susceptible to being retaken.
“Limited ammo”? Have I missed something, has everyone stopped funneling supplies to the rebels?
The US is trying to re-supply their terrorists, but the Russians keep blowing their stuff up …..
Across the entire Idlib/Turkish border? Hardly. Random, sparse airstrikes are practically useless.
I don’t think is that easy to bring this ammo from the turkish border until 1070 project apartment, it’s not that they don’t have supplies, they do, but it’s a scarce resource
They are surrounded in Aleppo aside from the corridors, which are under observation, so what gets over the border isn’t very relevant to the supply situation here.
Damned those Russians…
Big munitions convoys are now restricted now due to Russian aircraft, but given Aleppo and Idlib’s proximity to Turkey, individual trucks must still be running back and forth daily. The GCC are still buying up munitions in Ukraine and Bulgaria and sending them to Turkey. Those bulk supplies of Grad missile that recently arrived to jihadists in south Aleppo during last ceasefire were likely hidden amongst the ‘humanitarian aid’ convoy.
need to send them some 1500kg ruski humanitarian packages. terrorists then go boom.
And whats Your address..
If this is a fact then this is the 3rd time a cease fire has backfired. Need to stop being the ‘nice, caring type’ and finish the job. Who cares what the West or US think? Need to consider the civilians and leaving them at the mercy of terrorists is not beneficial to them.
“Nice caring type ” ??? Who the hell do you think is training, funding, arming and supporting the terrorists ? The USA ! Wake up and realize what most of the world already knows…
Ha-ha.
I think by now. more of the world will agree with you. RF/SAA should have a green light to level the place now.
This project 1070 is similar to handarat Camp on north. Long ping-pong game. But once taken 1070 with hikmah school (as handarat+kindi hospital), the next bus stop will be Khan Tuman. :D
That 1070 complex is huge and looks a total nightmare for SAA and Hezbollah to deal with. Assume jihadists keep throwing resources at it because if lose grasp on it they have what looks on map to be lightly built up and largely exposed terrain behind them, and can be rolled back like you say.
SAA should demolish this buildings…those are not finished, and after the war they are going to abandon them. By now those are a rats nest, so I don’t understand why don’t they bomb it with artillery until they fall down
Unless it is on purpose, it’s very sad to see how Russia and their allies repeat again and again the same mistake with those useless truce and unilateral humanitarian pause because rather than helping humanely, this does nothing more than complicate the already difficult task of reconquer Aleppo’s puling out once for all those terrorists animals.
But if they don’t do it the locals will suffer even worse short term and the condemnation from the West will have some credit. It is no mistake and do not confuse mercy and helping citizens with weakness. Hard to call a government evil when they try for a peaceful solution time and time again. They are doing the best they can for the civilians stuck in this terrible situation. The terrorist scum will be removed.
Are you watching the news my friends? The terrorists will never let any aids o helps to arrive to citizens. They shot civilians trying to flee to safe zones. The only way to truly help the Alepo people is to liberate them of that hell destroying all terrorists in the area without breaks or inutils truces, prolonging the suffering of these citizens. This is not about to please West or no body but to resolve a conflict as soon as possible.
I have been watching the news, the reason for the humanitarian pause was for the citizens. I hear what you are saying and it’s true these terrorists have no honor or code. But the purpose is to get out as many citizens out as possible because they will smash this place big time. That is the reason I think for the actions. The Russians and allies know what they are doing. There is a reason for it and it’s no mistake.
I hope you’re right my friend and we have to wait and see what follows. Meanwhile, success and long life to Russia in its fight against those animals terrorists in Syria for the sake of humanity. There is no doubt that the fate of Libya would be very different with an ally like Russia.
Amen to that. As for Libya it would have been different if Vladamir Putin was president at the time and not Dmitry Medvedev. Putin would of used a veto in the UN. So it does not surprise me they are sticking with Syria as they see what is happening to the middle east.
I wonder of they evacuated the 1070 of civilians first – that would make a great trap.
A difficult target to be sure. Going building by building is exceedingly difficult. Levelling each building may kill those inside, but creates its own set of problems. Just like the bombing of Monte Casino in WWII. The Germans used the ruins quite effectively for defense.
