Russia and Jordan made an agreement to set a coordination center in Amman. The center will be used to share information on the counter-terrorism operations.

Russia, Iran, Iraq and Syria already have a Baghdad-based center used for the same goal.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that Jordan could play a positive part in finding a political solution to the Syrian conflict.

“Under an agreement between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, the militaries of the two countries have agreed to coordinate their actions, including military aircraft missions over the Syrian territory,” Russian FM said.

Jordan Foreign Minister, Nasser Judeh, also believes the center would serve as an efficient communication tool for the countries’ military.

Speaking in Vienna on Friday, Lavrov called on expanding the effort to defeat ISIS and other terrorists in Syria and launch a political transition.
