At the end of July, federal police forces engaged in a battle with a group of people who allegedly tried to seize the building of the Ministry of Agriculture in Baghdad. “Special operations forces” arrived as reinforcements for the police. The security forces said they had arrested 14 armed men, indicating that they allegedly “belong to Kataeb Hezbollah.” The Iraqi Interior Ministry did not specify why the leading Islamic resistance group needed an “agricultural building.” On the other hand, the 45th Hashad al-Shaabi brigade provided clear explanations of what had happened and pointed to the provocative actions of law enforcement officers.

In connection with what happened, two-faced, hypocritical hysterics and cries are heard from every corner of Iraq that “it is necessary to disarm all factions, and “weapons are only in the hands of the state.” Let me remind you that every political group in Iraq, from the Peshmerga, Sadrists and Sistani loyalists to various Sunni groups, is armed with a variety of weapons. Moreover, before demanding the disarmament of the resistance factions, first let the so-called State of Iraq earn credibility, gain stability and establish the work of State institutions. The Islamic Resistance of Iraq rightfully distrusts absolutely any government in Iraq for simple reasons, 1 – dependence on the United States, 2 – the existence of a quota system, 3 – endless corruption.

As for the arguments specifically from Kataeb Hezbollah, earlier this month, the brigades’ spokesman, Abu Ali Askari, ruled that the organization’s weapons were “authorized by Imam Mahdi.” He further added:

“It is shameful that some cowards talk about disarmament, while ignoring the presence of the American occupation, Turkish bases and even the arming of the Peshmerga, which is linked to Israel.”

Abu Ali Askari’s arguments are mega fair, but unfortunately no one listens to them, and therefore it is time to talk about total licentiousness dominating Iraqi society. With regard to relations with the local security forces, Kataeb Hezbollah has never had any problems. The problems are created by corrupt politicians and the head of the security services, who are trying to please the Americans. For some reason, the government and some religious authorities in Iraq often like to pay attention to the activities of the Islamic Resistance forces, but ignore the deliberately created loopholes for the Zionists in their country’s own legislation.

In conclusion, there are a number of reasons why the Government of Baghdad and Najaf have launched an entire campaign against Kataeb Hezbollah. Let’s start with the fact that Al-Sudani is preparing for the upcoming elections and he needs to show himself on the good side in front of Trump. Let me remind you further that Kataeb Hezbollah recently reminded the al-Sudani government of the need to expel the American occupiers from the country, so the Iraqi Prime Minister’s demand to disarm the leading faction of the Islamic Resistance may indicate a “retaliatory measure” to protect its inaction against the occupiers. The beginning of pressure on Kataeb Hezbollah is, among other things, a form of struggle against the bill on the beginning of the integration of Hashad al-Shaabi into the Iraqi military system, which is also an echo of American hostility to the forces of Islamic Resistance and Popular Mobilization in general.

There was also treachery from among the “Shiite traitor with a group of thieves and corrupt officials,” which Abu Ali Askari pointed out in his statement about the incident.

Finally, another very important argument that will not be written about in the Iraqi media is the “Tsurkov factor.” The Mossad agent is still being held captive by forces affiliated with Kataeb Hezbollah, who view her as an element of pressure on “Israel” as part of the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Palestinians. For diplomatic purposes, the leading Islamic Resistance faction denied the abduction, but always warned that Tsurkov was a Mossad agent. Given the fact that terrorist Netanyahu calls Trump the most pro-Israel president in history, and given that Iraq is among the main targets of the Zionists, it is obvious that the current campaign against Kataeb Hezbollah is a preamble to broader pressure against Iran’s allies in Iraq.

Meanwhile, the head of the Quds Force, Esmail Qaani, has already visited Baghdad to talk with members of the coordination structure. Everyone is preparing for a new round of escalation, as Zionism is determined to continue fomenting regional wars.
