Keep Your Weapons From Being Stolen by Following These Simple Precautions

Firearms and weapons are as dangerous as the handler itself. So when a gun is handled by the wrong hands, things could quickly get out of control. One concern all responsible gun owners share is keeping our weapons away from unauthorized people.

Gun safety is an issue that needs to be addressed carefully. If left unnoticed, a lot of sad and horrible events can happen. Fortunately, there are simple tips and technological innovations that you can use to fully protect your family while keeping your guns safe and secure. Here are some of the best practices you can do as well as suggestions to keep your weapons from being stolen.

Lock Them Up

The best and easiest way to secure your guns in your home is to lock them up in a safe. But as much as possible, put them in a safe that is designed for weapon storage, preferably with an electronic lock to make unauthorized access difficult. Using any other safe might affect the gun’s condition. A gun that’s deteriorating can be very dangerous to use. It may explode while you fire it or it may never fire at all.

Bear in mind that the thief’s common goal is to steal as many items as possible in a short amount of time, but when he comes up against a fully secured safe, they are most likely to stop and immediately head for an escape.

Size Matters

Small guns and pistols are often kept in small lock boxes and drawers. While this offers concealment, drawers and lockboxes are usually easy choices to a thief, and not all storage safes can prevent gun theft.

If you want to secure your guns properly, it might be a good idea to use gun vaults with heavy-duty locks. Not only do these vaults offer secured storage, but most of these vaults are also heavy enough for a thief to reconsider stealing your weapons.

Concealment

As much as possible, the best way to avoid getting your weapons stolen is to not show it while transporting it. The last thing you want to do is attract potential thieves who have taken an interest in your guns.

Ensure your weapons are stored in your trunk before traveling and keep the ammo boxes and accessories out of sight. More importantly, never show off your gun. Even if you’re a licensed gun owner, it doesn’t give you the right to brandish your weapons while you’re out on the streets for a grocery run.

Anchoring

As stated earlier, the heavier gun storage is, the better. However, a great alternative of massive vaults is to anchor your gun safes to a nearby fixture.

Anchoring your gun safes means firmly attaching it to furniture or firm wall fixtures. This ensures that your gun safe stays put. While most safe manufacturers offer materials to anchor your safe, it is best to seek advice from your local hardware to look for the best spots to anchor your safe.

Advanced Gun Storage Technology

Gun safes have become the main force of preventing firearm-related accidents. With traditional safes becoming easier to open by thieves, we may have to resort to upgrading our traditional safes. The newest innovation in the industry is the biometric safe, and its given features pose an impressive feat in gun safety technology.

Biometric Gun Safe Technology

If you have handguns at home, consider using handgun safes with biometric features. These safes can be opened by fingerprint recognition. No one in their right mind would want other people to easily access their gun safe. Safes with biometric features offer a secure but quick way of getting your gun in and out.

Advantages of Biometric Safes

There are several advantages of owning a biometric handgun safe. The selling point of these gun safes is that it is secure enough against unauthorized accidents and, at the same time, quickly opened during emergencies by recognized fingerprint owners.

During a crisis where using a handgun is inevitable, you wouldn’t want to look for small keys or take time to remember the key codes. As long as you have registered to your fingerprints, all it takes is a quick scan to open the biometric safes.

As mentioned earlier, another excellent feature for biometric safes is they are capable of storing more than one fingerprint access. This ensures that people with access are approved gun users that can do proper gun handling in intense situations or unexpected break-ins.

Takeaway:

Advanced technology and innovations have certain features that offer versatility and mode of access for users. And while gun safes would continue to improve over the years, biometric gun safes are sure to be mass-produced for a while. When choosing the best gun safe, make sure it offers quick access and durability. Biometric gun safes are perfect examples of it.

Forget about the electronic lock. Its to easy to open. Nope, do what I always have been doing!

You buy yourself 3 safe. The first one is in heavy reinforced concrete with 300mm walls you cast in the floor under your carpet with a simple lock on. Inside your RC safe you push in an old bank steel safe, on of those you see in Western cowboy movies, with click lock on. Now the thief will think your gun is inside, and as these click locks are also easy for professionals to open, the thief will also open this one also. But third you put in the final safe, a safe in heavy heavy lead, with a double integrated stainless steel lock with 2 keys. Here the thieves already have wasted too much time. They cant bear the heavy lead safe away, and they cant lock to two integrated key locks up in reasonable time and the thieves are fokked and give up.

Thats how I always keep and have kept my guns locked in, and I NEVER had any trouble at all!

Assad must stay

i sleep with mine under my pillow hahahahah

Family safety aginst others by being armed is one of the worst ILLUSIONS for most of the whole world.

2/3 of all crime is among family and and affiliated ones. By that gunsafe also become an ILLUSION, because they know where the guns are even the weapons are divided into 3 sections(the law says so in Denmark and the gun itself has to be in a safe).

The safest thing is to have no guns, open minded relations to not own family as well but also the rest of the world.

By that it also becomes easy to see the classic Islam by Muhammed familiy should not have walls around it. The wall do protect from outsiders, but it also makes it much easier to make hidden internal crimes. Here women and children are the best victims, because most of them are not allowed to be outside that fence.

I haven’t consulted an attorney on it. But a conversion kit insert for the HK 26.5mm pistol for use as a concealed carry short barreled .223 or .30-06 single shot handgun is probably legal. Whether it’s safe is another question. Given the recoil of the rounds, the 06 in particular. A gunsmith with the right licensing can probably fabricate a solution to make it safe. Including a brake. Whether running AP ammo in it is legal is another issue that should probably be looked at by an attorney.

The insert could be two part. So that the recoil is distributed to both the barrel and receiver. To lessen force on the receiver. Which is actually designed for a much larger cartridge. Though I’m not sure what the foot pounds of energy comparisons are.

“The ATF defines it as handgun ammunition, but there’s a catch. If any handgun has ever been made in a specific caliber, then ATF considers that the AP ammo regulations then apply to that caliber. That’s why you can’t buy AP ammo for cartridges like 7.62×39 and several others. The 5.56x45NATO is specifically exempted from this, even though there are pistols made for it.

It’s perfectly legal to possess, purchase, sell or shoot armor piercing ammunition. It’s not legal to manufacture or import armor piercing ammunition.”

This is a video shot a few miles from the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone where the police station is currently under siege by the protesters of the police shooting an unarmed man in the head while he held his baby in his arms. The county prosecutor took two days to charge the motorist ambushed by rioters at the CHAZ with felony assault without charging any of the rioters who attacked him with a crime. The same prosecutor still hasn’t charged the officer who shot the unarmed man holding his child. https://youtu.be/aH_1VNFZDlQ

“Carolyn Riley-Payne, president of NAACP Seattle King County, issued a statement Wednesday evening decrying the fatal shooting as unnecessary and demanding a thorough investigation into Fuhr’s death.

“From the SPD video, it does not appear that the deadly force used by the officer was necessary. From the video, it appears that at no time did Mr. Fuhr display a weapon at the police or any other person as he was being chased and no talk of a weapon by the officers is heard on the video audio while they are chasing him down,” the statement says. “SPD Chief Carmen Best has stated that the officers ‘engaged’ Mr. Fuhr; however, the video shows that the police chased the victim and shot him, without apparent warning. From the video it is apparent that Mr. Fuhr did not see or hear the shot coming.”

The statement also criticized Best’s assertion that officers were concerned about the safety of Fuhr’s young daughter.

“The officer who killed Mr. Fuhr shot at him while he was holding his little girl, and while he was running. It is absolutely unacceptable that the officer demonstrated such utter disregard for the life and safety of the child.”

Seattle police said the shooting is being investigated by its own Force Investigation Team in compliance with an ongoing 2012 consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice. The shooting is also being investigated by the King County Sheriff’s Office in keeping with the provisions of Initiative 940, a voter initiative amended by the Legislature last year that overhauled the state’s police use-of-force statutes.

Court records show Fuhr was convicted four times of fourth-degree domestic-violence assault and was the subject of seven protection orders involving three people, including the woman who called 911 prior to the shooting. Fuhr, whose last known address is in Federal Way, served nine months in the King County Jail for violating a no-contact order and unlawful possession of a firearm before he was released March 26, about a month before he was shot by police, according to jail and court records.”

This is the video of the motorist being attacked by rioters that the prosecutor charged with felony assault. Rather then charging the rioters who clearly provoked the motorist legally driving on a street that they were illegally blocking into provoking him into shooting one of them in self defense as they were attacking him. https://youtu.be/P6dknyrb6fY
