The Middle East is braced for an expected response by Iran and its allies against the United States that assasinated Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Qods Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units, as well as several other Iranian and Iraqi officers in Bahdad.
This criminal attack put the region on the edge of a new open military conflict and caused a state of panic among regional countries.
Israel put its military on heightened alert and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut short a trip to Greece.
US missile defense forces in the region, including Patriot systems deployed in Bahrain, were placed on a high alert.
“And it is also reported a US Air Force plane filled with with combat troops and special forces took off from the East Coast overnight while the strike unfolded in Iraq.
It is so far unclear where the troops were going, but it comes after the US promised to up their defences in the Middle East,” Newsweek claims.
The US Embassies in Bahrain, Kuwait and Pakistan officially issued security alerts. US civilian personnel are being evacuated from Iraq.
An increased military activity has been reported at Russia’s Hmeimim airbase in Syria.
Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units is mobilizing their forces. Core groups of the organization have already declared their readiness to combat the US agression.
Lebanon’s Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said his movement would continue the path of Soleimani after his death, according to al-Manar TV. Nasrallah said the US would not be able to achieve its goals with this “big crime” and just punishment was the responsibility of all resistance fighters.
According to reports, Iran has already instensified military activity along its borders. These includes air and ground patrols, as well as maritime activity. It’s expected that soon the Iranian miltiary will be put on heightened alert.
The assasination of Soleimani and other Iranian and Iraqi commanders caused a large backlash among the Iranian and Iraqi nations as well as parts of the society supporting the ‘resistance axis’ in many other regional countries.
Nationalism takes hold, so they start another ME war for distraction
DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE OTHERS DO UNTO YOU …TAKE OUT TRUMP
LOL. Iranian response? When I see a meaningful response I will believe it.
I don’t remember the comment to which you are referring but apparently the comment was correct none the less. I haven’t seen any meaningful response. Protesters start fires all the time.
iran does not have the capabilities to respond .
You are exactly right. Imagine if one had a gun to another’s head and punched the other in the face. What can the other do? He could fight back and perhaps cause some damage but he would be killed in the process.
Edgar . Steele was probably right…unfo!
A good time to be in the oil business, it is now 5% higher thatn norm and if spiralls to full conflict $250 a barrel will be the norm
US has been continually at war with Iran since they and their pasty the Shah was kicked out of Iran. That war cost over 200,000 Iranian wounded and dead during US and allies backing of Saddam’s Iraw invasion of Irran; billions of dollars taken away from funds that could of improved both daily lives of its peoples and trade programs with rest of world. During all those years of combating US/Israel and NATO aggression Iran military never left its borders until asked to by both Iraq and Syria, and both times it was due to US destabilization by supporting some of most brutal and barbaric terrorist of those two Nations. One has to look at just what portion of Iran military are in Syria and Iraq, they are not the true sovereign military of Iraq but instead belong to its secondary religious but official popular malitia members. Iran has sent very few of its highest trained Sovereign Special Force members who act as advisors and trainers and infrastructure supply specialist but not actual hands on combat leaders. It, Iran, has not been carrying on vast assassination, kidnapping and Cyber attack programs such as what Israel/US and NATO does on a daily basis. Iran’s ability to directly “retaliate” against US is very miniscule, as they know any major event would bring an even greater retribution, let’s clear the air, by the world. Iran may be on good terms with Turkey, China and Russia, but come an open conflict by Israel/US and its allies none of those nations would provide open military protection, and Iran knows it. Once Iraq and Syria no longer need Iran’s help in fighting terrorist the peoples of both nations will force them to leave, as is already being done by Iraq populace. Iran Government is trying to hold itself together with a decreasing ability to finance even day to day needs of its populace, and that populace is daily becoming disgruntled with their goverrnments wasteful spending in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon with a declining standard of living at home. As for Iran’s intelligence security, it has more speakers in it than non leakers, with especially Israeli paid agents; so bad that Iran cannot dare to begin to build a nuclear deterent, as day after they started missles would be falling on their facilities.
Many American Cannonfodder-Parasites will Die… MO’ BODYBAGS!
lol those patriots are useless
Donald Trump is a like a butch bitch on heat, – and he makes it all so personal. Tit for Tat. Maybe the savvy Iranians will target Trump Enterprises and make the hurt very personal. I for one will not go near ‘Trump’ Towers, golf courses or casinoes. Will American s defend Trumps arse? I think not!
