Need to update your facts. HMS Sheffield was hit by an Exocet. The warhead failed to explode. HMS Glamorgan was hit by a land based Exocet and suffered minor damage. A container ship was also struck. HMS invisible was decommissioned by the Royal Navy in 2005.
The Sheffield was sunk after several hours so the damage was enough even with a dud missile.
